OR-> I highly recommend Keka. It is free if you download it directly from the developer's website instead of the Mac App Store. But donations are highly recommended. @ https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/32512/keka

Both websites for developer doesn't appear to be working. Getting an unusual error message for updates. "You have updates available for other accounts. Sign in to acct you used to purchase it". In other words all my apps have been updated, but still get this error. (catch 22?)

Haven't checked out the dev's site since my previous comment, but I have that problem with another MAS app that I downloaded, and others have said the same in comments for said app. Just consider that part of the mystique and and majesty of the MAS, i.e. that's just another reason to hate the MAS.

Hmmm, there are already a lot of such apps available, many that are better featured, i.e. they allow viewing the archived files before extracting, e.g.: BetterZip and Zipeg. Even looking at the pro-version at the developer's site, it doesn't appear this feature is available Also, the Apple Store reviews have a very curious bimodal distribution of one- and five-star reviews, with the former reviewers saying the app doesn't work.

App Store (et.al., including MacUpdate ;)) ratings tend to be bi-polar. Many apps are quickly branded with 1-star ratings when someone has *any* issue with them and 5-stars when no issues are noticed. I think a tri-star rating systems would often be sufficient, something like: 1-star = dissatisfied, for whatever reasons. 2-star = generally satisfied, with room for improvement. 3-star = fully satisfied, no change/improvement necessary.
