Amazed there are no reviews on this yet. I've used it for ages on the iPad and bought it as soon as it came out for the Mac. It's a very simple and quick way to get a beat going when I need to do some recording - way faster than using a GarageBand loop or getting a click going in Digital Performer or Logic. It's also a steal at $10.

First off, I have to say that I have not tried this, as I believe that the app only produces electronic drum sounds and I only use Drum sampled clips in my work, if that is the case, then I would suggest 'Doggiebox' as a trial also. 'Doggiebox' seems to be a very similar programmable drum machine, but with real sampled drum sounds. I have no connection whatsoever with the dev of 'Doggiebox', only that I have used it for something like 5 years now and find it exactly what I need when I require a 'real' drum sound on my recordings. Each to his, (or her) own, but my style of music doesn't require electronic drum sounds!

youre mistaken - this app features a wide array of studio recorded drum and percussion samples as well as emulations of classic digital drum machines such as the LinnDrum and Roland R8. It also allows you to import and edit your own samples from a variety of sources. Yes it also has samples of classic beatboxes and analog drum machines, but it does not synthesize drum sounds as you assume - although the same company makes the DM2 which does exactly that, and quite well.

Bunnybrains: Thank you for the info, yes, I checked out their site, and indeed, you are right! In fact, I see that the app comes with quite a few real drum samples, I may well give it a try. Just one question which isn't made clear, are drum strokes individually adjustable for velocity?

Thanks for the heads up!

Its interface can be navigated entirely with your mouse. It's an app you can click your way through; no need for external hardware.

Well, i have learned that this app does not work in Mavericks although the system requirements indicate otherwise.

Also not happy with the fact that this developer does not offer a limited timed out version. For me to spend Ten bucks for an app that may not meet my requirements is stupid. However there are those buyers out there that obviously have more money then brains and that's why apple and these developers get rich.
