In order to bring it into the App Store I had to change its name. In order to be on teh App Store, Apps have to be sandboxed. When they are sandboxed they can't import data from old Apps with an old Name :-(

Long story short:

Should you already own myManuals and purchased it after 06/01/12, I'm happy to provide you with a code for Steps on a first come first serve basis since you can import all your existing manuals and templates into Steps.

Currently it's also available for a much reduced price for a while, so you can easily up/cross grade and even switch to the Mac App Store version which is currently waiting for review.

Is it really necessary to bring your app into the App Store? Does that mean that new upgrades won't be available for older non App Store version? As always, I'm not really happy to have to pay again just to have the priviledge to download the apps from the App Store, which I really dislike. Also, myManual hasn't been upgraded since a while, is there anything new that make it worth the be bought again? I really regret the old time when I could just buy apps directly from the developpers.

I can see why Kankei71 might ruffle a few feathers with the comments below but it would mean a lot if the person(s) who down-graded these posts by Kankei71 please explain why?

I don't see anything wrong besides some honest questions, although I admit, "Is it really necessary to bring your app into the App Store?" is the developer's call, nothing more and nothing less.

The mac app store has seen developers abandone older "versions" of apps and charge for upgrades that would not be dreamed of outside of "mas." MOApp has given a gracious offer to provide promo codes for old customers who are active and in contact with the developer so all seems well hear but Kankei's complaints of extremely rare upgrades to the mas predecessor of Steps and then a call for purchase is a valid complaint.

On a side note, luckily I did not buy myManuals and bought Steps as it is an excellent application with a talented and time tested developer behind the helm. I really like the app and can't wait to see what updates are coming... Cheers!

Fully agree with Fishscale and Kankei71!
I'm also in the situation like Kankei71 and bought myManuals two days after him on 22 october 2011.
And now there is no download of myManuals on http://createlivelove.com/downloads/ and also no information about product change and upgrade policy.....
I wrote today to the dev and am waiting now for his help.
Will update here on his reply.
