BeamApp beams your your ongoing activity from your Mac to the iPhone and back. You finally found the phone number in an email? Just "beam" it to instantly dial it on your iPhone! When you arrive at home you can continue to listen to the music you enjoyed on the go. After planning a route on your tablet you can "beam" it to your mobile and immediately start the turn-by-turn routing. And of course, you can beam websites.

Great start, works exactly described on developers page. There are a few other apps, that do similar things so it will be good to see if this can offer smoother transitions and more options and or features
from the site:
As of August, 31st 2014 BeamApp has closed its service.
With continuity iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite any Apple user will have similar features with the built-in continuity.
I've had this app for a couple of weeks, and I bet I use it at least 10 times a day. What a brilliant idea. A lot of the utility is also available in iMessages, but BeamApp works smoother.
In iMessages you first have to either enter your iPhone number or look it up. In BeamApp it's all preconfigured.
One feature I really like is beaming a URL from the iPhone to the Mac, as BeamApp actually opens up web pages for you on your Mac so it's ready and waiting on you when you get back to the Mac.
Just today I updated so I can now send text back and forth between the two devices. Who knows what's next.
The BeamApp is yet one more reason to get an iPhone and a Mac.
