League of Legends is a multiplayer online battle arena video game.
League of Legends is a multiplayer online battle arena where teams of players compete for dominance, selecting from a growing cast of over 90 uniquely powerful champions. Over 32 million players each month play the game to engage in session-based, multiplayer battles against rival teams, with more than 12 million players enjoying League of Legends every day.
The Mac client does everything that the PC client does, meaning you’ll get all future features, bug fixes and new content on the same schedule as PC players, but on your native OS. The Cross-Platform team will also continue working diligently to smash any Mac bugs that surface during the open beta.
What’s new in version 14.2
In this week's patch we’re looking to address some of the champions that the 14.1 changes hit hardest. Some champs, like Camille and Illaoi, need the help due to the terrain changes, while others, like Ezreal and Fizz, struggled or thrived with the new items at their disposal. In addition to champion balance changes, we’re also retuning a few of the items to get them into a better place. But that’s not all, we also have a whole list of quality of life changes!

I decided to give the current version a go and despite still saying ”Mac beta” in the lower left corner while the game was loading I must say the developers have done a good job improving the Mac version! I used to get quite heavy frame rate drops as soon as there was some action in game – now everything seemed to stay smooth no matter the amount of action and that with all graphics settings maxed out on my Mac Pro (Mid 2010) with a GTX 1070 graphics card running High Sierra 10.13.6. A relatively beefy hardware config, but still – good to see things are going in the right direction! :)
