Haven't yet tried v8, but won't, because I was burned by a previous version. Paid for a license which was not transferrable to a new machine after my previous computer failed and had to be replaced. Developer was completely unresponsive.

I purchased the license to use 4 cameras. The computer (server) that I used to run the software was not working correctly and I was in another country for a while. I thought I could run the software on another box and just transfer the keys. WRONG.
The license for the cameras are tied to the server machine, so if that machine dies, your software licenses die with it.
Let me be clear, I like the program and it worked fine, but the license policies are not clear on the website. Furthermore, the licensing scheme is confusing - you purchase camera licenses but they are all tied to the server computer? Feels like I threw $99 down the trash.

I worked with many video security systems. This one has 1) auto-detection of all devices on the network, very easy to add a camera, 2) love their schedule, easy to choose what time to monitor, very flexible, 3) creating new templates for video cells is so cool, 4) new version contains selection of motion detection region, well done, and, finally, my favorite, 5) searching through all recorded video is a breeze, no system I worked with allows you to find what you are looking for that quick. Cannot wait when you integrate thermostats and other sensors into the system.
