This version (2.24) won't even launch. I removed it and reinstalled 2.23 and it works fine again.

yes - sorry

seems that there is a problem with the Library references i create copy and modify to make it SeaMonkey a self contained package.

It escaped my quick test after a compiler upgrade
i made on my development system here.

It may take a couple days to sort out and get a new executable as i cant devote myself to this 100%

This is terrible! I use Sea Monkey and have been stuck at lower versions. I upgraded to 10.5 and to this. WTF! This is so unbelievable slow I want to shoot myself in the head. Everything hangs! Everything fails to load on pages (images) or overwrites the same area -it's like it has no clue how to handle webcode!

I switched back to the older version and everything is fine (no changes to the preferences of the browser). My system is in perfect working order (repaired permissions, diskwarrior cleaned) but this browser version STINKS! And from reading the other reviews seems to be consistently BAD! This should be called SeaTURTLE because that's it's speed.

If you are considering downloading this...DONT! You'll regret it and be posting like I am.

Kills the very popular utility iGlasses.

Seems even slower, not faster than FireFox 3.6.28, which DOES support iGlasses.

Will this start under 10.4 at all or does it require 10.5 Finder?

I tried running this under OS X 10.4.11 on a G5 2 x 2 GHz system. The application immediately reported it couldn't be opened on that version of the Mac OS. On the same hardware, the browser ran fine under OS X 10.5.8.

If the creator says that the minimum requirements are 10.5, then you ought to listen to him/her.

For those like myself who were having issues with SeaMonkey-ppc 2.15 and later failing to start with a symbol not found in libstdc++ error message, hiker.x.biker has resolved the problem by incorporating into the SeaMonkey-ppc distributions the libstdc++ and libgcc libs against which he is compiling. This will be the case for all releases moving forward.

Allow me to add my appreciation and thanks to the developer. While I have (slowly) moved from a G4 PowerBook to a MacBook Pro, my old, trusty G4 still works as a streaming audio server and as a utility backup machine.

The SeaMonkey for PPC has revived a machine that could no longer operate well in today's web space. It's fast, reliable, and does everything I want it to. Kudos!

Thanks You for this! : I pulled an old eMac out of the closet, and gave it the old maximum update and performance treatment, wiped/reinstalled selectively, pruning old, hacking anew, and was very pleased with the performance of SeaMonkey, including ability to use some modern extensions. This brought back positive memories of Netscape Communicator, and Firefox and Thunderbird combination, and feels quite uptodate in just about every way. Good Job!
