Nice tight simple Calendar that connects with Apple Calendar events and lets me see a month at a glance.
Thank you Shaun for Day-O.
I also have ItsyCal but Day-O is ultimately more useful because of Events.
Why doesn't Apple integrate their own software like this. Notifications, Menubar Time Date and Calendar should all just smoothly interact. They don't.
I love Day-O; it gives me exactly what I want in my menu bar, and in the least space of all the possibilities I've tried (and its lack of Calendar integration doesn't bother me, because I don't use Calendar).
One star off, though, because I can't move its icon from the left of the text to the right, where I'd much prefer it.
(Day-O's time-keeping is weird: it's mostly always a sec behind Apple time.)
I've been comparing Day-O with Apple's solution and Itsycal, and my bottom line is that Day-O uses the least amount of menu bar space of the various permutations and combinations.
Weird, though, that Day-O's time is one second behind Apple's time.
I downloaded this one along w/ MagiCal and both have one annoying problem. Neither allow you to place it in the right spot.
It wants to sit right next to the notification by pushing Spotlight and the computer name to the left. Since menu bar management is the name of the game, it's kind of a deal breaker.
Also, this app is very limited in customizing.
MagiCal allows many many more options.
I've wanted a simple and quick month-at-a-glance calendar for a while. Day-O gives this to me. Also serves as a nice replacement for MacOS X's default menu bar clock with some neat configuration options.
Great! Just what I needed. I've had other programs in the past that display a calendar when you click on the day and time, but none seemed to work well with Lion. This is right on the money...thank you!
I like it better than Date and Time since I can click on it and see the entire month; however, for those of us who use multiXFinder and disable the Spotlight menu, it positions itself to the right of the multiXFinder menu icon, in the corner, rather than to the left of multiXFinder where it's supposed to be. And it cannot be moved with Command-drag. multiXFinder can, but Day-O refuses to swap positions.
Nice little free app. I replaced MyMenuDate with Day-O because the former felt a little hack-y, and was tricky to pull down the menu and the font used for the text in the menu bar didn't look quite right.
Was hoping to get a flashing time divider with Day-O, but like MyMenuDate, there's no option for that. But for something that's free, I can't complain.
How would you rate Day-O app?
