I have an iPhone 3g so I can not use shared libraries. I have had great fun with this thing and it allows you to pick what you want the server to make available. I can not think of any thing else I'd need in this app. The only issue I have with it is that I can not verify that I am not creating any security vulnerabilities. Little Snitch has not detected anythng. But time will tell. So far, I think this thing is awesome for those in my position. Note: I find that I don't get art work. I personally don't care. Also iTunes Playlists are not in the same order as the playlist.

I haven't had enough experience with other systems to give a decent review. And, I am only speaking to the streaming of audio. But, I have tried Subsonic & MyTunesRSS. While they are a bit more refined than Air Playit it covers my two major concerns. Functional playback: is readily served up and shuffle plays when needed. It uses WAY LESS resources than the others: almost non existent CPU and hundreds of MBs less memory. Also, while it seems to be abandonware it's working on OS X 10.10.2 and iOS 8.1.3.

They seem to've gone out of business... None of their emails responds (as of the first week of September 20165).

Whatever I've tried, I can't even set up their server on my iMac intel Core i5 with OS x 10.7.5 - nothing seems to work, absolutely nothing. Their support doesn't respond to my queries either. Rubbish. I start doubting that previous reviews were real...

The reviews are real - I did not have any problems. Totally different to other solutions. You might check your firewall settings: if incoming connections are denied, it will not work. Getting no help is not satisfying, okay. But if you still have problems, you might ask help in my forum (http://mac-media-center.com/forum/) - I like to support free of charge solutions like this even if I am not part of it.

I can add some current feedback: - It has worked flawlessly on my Mac mini i5 on 10.8 for a couple of months. - I'm able to view all movies, DRM or not, on my iPhone 4S, iPhone 5S and iPad 3, both iOS 6 and now iOS 7. - I set it up using both local WiFi, remote WiFi and remote 4G, on the recommended port of 37218 - Works w/ my Apple firewall on or off I can only attest to those points. Sorry if this does not provide you with further assistance, but it does work. Perhaps the OS 10.7.5 is the root of the problem. Good luck!

VE said: I have no firewall at all. Sorry, but are you using a Mac? Then you have a build-in firewall. Please open "System Preferences", select "Security" and take a look at "Firewall".

Great application: free, runs perfectly on Mac OS X 10.6 / iPad with iOS 6.1 and does everything as expected. I also tested AirVideoServer (HD), but had only problems. Thank you very much for offering such a great app free of charge!
