Not happy that all media handling goes through Plex servers outside of user control. Sadly over the years more and more features that were of no use for me were added to Plex. Due to the mentioned issues I have now switched to Jellyfin, which is less polished, but gets the job done and all media control and handling remains under user control, which is a big win in my book. The switch took some effort, but I have since not looked back.

Gave it a try and downloaded and installed Plex. Only wanted to share my music in local network. After waiting half the day it finally was done. Then I realized that ALL covers who are embedded in the mp3-files were copied in a separate folder, which was several gigabytes of data... wtf?
Immediately de-installed Plex and working with Serviio again. Serviio is able to display embedded covers without needing to copy gigabytes of covers seperately. Also configuring the app is much easier and everything is much more clearly displayed.
