XtraFinder does Tabs better than Apple's Finder. Have been using for quite a while now and very much appreciated.

Lots of convenience features. Great product and very stable. I know the 0.19.1 change log says hide dot files on desktops is fixed on Mavericks from 0.19.0, but it isn't. That's my only gripe.

Great software. I really appreciate the legacy labels option.

You should put a donate button somewhere or on the website. I appreciate your work.

Using color folders you can no longer free drop a file in a stack of folders in list view without having the file drop into one of the existing folder. As soon as you turn color labels off, you can drop a file or folder in without it highlighting one of the existing files. Hope this can be fixed.

To clarify, it is as if the color label on one folder is making all the folders in that finder window think that they have names as wide as the color label on the other folder so when you drag into what you think is clear open area, you are actually dragging on top of that folder. Seems not the case with labels turned off.

When i tried this, it does highlight a folder, which is annoying because it seems that is where the file will go, but when i dropped it, the file went into the target directory as normal, not into the highlighted folder.

Developer, in 'Add items to Finder menus' is the option 'Collapse All'. Would it be possible to also make an option 'Expand All'?

Some much needed features that make Finder more tolerable. I can't live without "Arrange folders on top", "Automatically adjust width of Name column" (thanks for putting the "max width" option), "Press Return to open selection", "Press Backspace to go back", "Show Go Up button", the "New Terminal/File here" menu item, etc. Many more could/should be added, I have many ideas that could enhance things but I am too lazy to start programming Objective-C and learn the OSX APIs, so I am hoping the developer will continue to fix problems and extend the app.

Speaking of which, I think he could improve his communication, he probably looks too busy or doesn't want too much publicity. I am sure he reads the comments though. Anyway, there is nothing wrong of trying to patch the Finder if Apple is not brave or smart enough to improve it.

The legacy label colour painting is great, I was very dissapointed Apple decided that labels should only be used for oragnisation purposes while they could serve as a visual aid as well.

I noticed that the label colour is passed for soft links in icon and column view (but not in list view), Finder does not pass it regardless. I am not sure if I like this behaviour (could have an option in the preferences) but it would be cool to have consistency for all views.

Excellent, as usual. Just one comment - it seems that with legacy color labels, one cannot drag/select a list of files in list view. Or is it just me?

On a list view (with legacy color labels), try to click on a file and then drag up or down.
Normally, one selects multiple files this way; with the color label option, however, it doesn't work.

even with labels off when I try that, it tries to copy/move the first folder clicked unless I start in a blank area, then it works either way.

I just installed XtraFinder 0.18.2 on Snow Leopard. Seems very nice, but I notice something odd... when I right-click on a folder in the path bar, two of the choices are "Open" and "Open in New Tab". The problem is that they each do the opposite of what they say -- "Open" opens in a new tab, while "Open in New Tab" overwrites the current tab. Is this a bug, or is there something I don't understand?

Hello: I am posting here, because I am having trouble with my email, it keeps resending you my OLD email draft, sorry....

Bug report that I have been noticing, on Mac OSX 10.6.8
When you are on desktop, and dragging an item on desktop to another folder or volume, xtrafinder freezes the native finder "spring loaded folders and windows" function.
You end up with a ghost/shadow of the icon movement still visible, and a frozen finder
A force quit of finder is required, which also quits xtrafinder, but once xtrafinder is inactive and native finder is relaunched, normal correct behaviour returns.
Did not notice this bug in version 0.13.1, but this happens all time in version 0.14...

( I have no crash log, because it 'freezes' finder, requiring relaunch of finder, not an actual crash…)

Thank You for your help and updates

Hello, Thank You for your excellent finder enhancement!
Feature Request?:
Would like to be able to drag icon at top of Tab to desktop.
Would like to be able to 'right-click' on icon at top of Tab.

This is to restore functions that are available when standard finder window is open, without XtraFinder installed. In the past, I often right clicked on the icon on top of finder window, and could also drag that new icon on top of tab to new destination freely. Your XtraFinder is very good, would like to add back standard functions, please. Thank You

It looks like they fixed the window resize issue, however now there's another major issue.
It messed up my desktop moving all of my icons to the right like auto-arrange is on, but it is now.
There doesn't seem to be any way around this.
I cannot get my icons on my desktop to move.

I found a work-around to this problem.
Even though all keep arranged pref were off, for some reason, changing to sort bt name, then back to sort by kind reset the problem.
Icons now move freely on the desktop.
