How is this better than the build in text editor in Lion?
I don't see the need for yet another text editor that doesn't actually give something new to text editing.

People who write for a living, not just story writers but researchers and such, need features that you and I probably don't need. Headers, footers, annotations, references, etc…

I'm not one of those people so I can't comment further. TextEdit, Bean, Text Wrangler, AppleWorks, Tex-Edit Plus meet my needs.

TextEdit if I’m lazy, Bean for RTF that I care about, Text Wrangler for most any code, AppleWorks won’t run on 10.7+, and Tex-Edit for cleaning up email quotes, etc…

Seemed simple until just now…

The Developer might want to proof read what is written about the app. If this was produced on the app then it's no recommendation for the spellchecking features for a start.

And of course, we really, really need yet another text editor that is greed to solving problems that don't actually exist.
