Convert FCP 7 projects to FCP X.

Overview

SendToX brings your Final Cut Pro 7 projects forward to Final Cut Pro X so you can use Apple's powerful new professional editing tools to update or finish your older projects. The lightweight application is simple to use, with drag-and-drop support and progress information. SendToX translates important metadata from your Final Cut Pro 7 Project.

Note: App can be downloaded, but requires serial number to use; no trial available.

What's new in SendToX

I am still asking myself: Why does FCPX import Pro7 projects by default. :-(

Version 1.0.45: "Note: The version available from the Mac App Store (MAS) is still version 1.0.44, but those who purchased a license before the app was moved to the MAS can install the update to 1.0.45 using MacUpdate Desktop." - Not quite true. Launch 7toX and check for the update from within the app, and you'll be prompted to upgrade. Voilà.

Shame Apple does not provide such tool. Luckily it is very cheap. Must have for all FCP users upgrading to FCPX

This app and IFFmpeg are my two must have companions for using FCPX. Great value.

version on app store (and software update) is still 1.0.20 odd, since the only way this is sold and distributed is via the app store... so you can't buy this version (yet) but if you own it you can update now... isn't macupdate awesome?

Perhaps the delay is because of the Apple vetting process of apps. I don't know, just putting the idea out there.

I think you meant to say "Why doesn't FCX import Pro7 projects by default". That's a completely valid point, and I have no idea why you received a frowny over that. Giving you a smiley to compensate...
