Sync your keychain between all of your Apple devices.

Overview

Keychain2Go is the missing link for keychain sync between Macs, and between Macs and iOS devices. Finally you can access, sync, and change your keychain on multiple devices (Macs and iOS devices).

On the Mac
Keychain2Go on the Mac syncs the keychains from different Macs and iOS Devices. Every application on the Mac stores its secure keys in the keychain. Safari uses it to store the different passwords for the websites, Finder, disk images, Mail accounts, all is kept secure in the keychain on the Mac. Keychain2Go Mac makes that data on a single computer available for sync on multiple computers/iOS devices. The Mac version synchronizes data between the multiple Keychain2go instances. You keep accessing your data through programs that use the normal system keychain.

On iOS
For the first time ever, you can now access your Macs keychain on your iOS Device. You get full access to your keys stored in Keychain2Go. Never again will you fail to login to your Web mail account when abroad because you forgot your password on the Mac at home.

What's new in Keychain2Go

Version 1.52:
  • Changed filter rules to more closely match Apples iCloud keys and not match user keys. Filter rules are used to prevent keys that are changed constantly by programs and are machine-specific (e.g., iCloud keys) from being synced to other machines.
  • Removed filter rules for iOS as they are not needed there.

Maybe it is me, but it seems that the MacUpdate ad should indicate that to work with IOS, you also need to purchase the IOS app as well. Now add the $4.00 and very poor instructions and it seems not to be a good deal.

Found same problem here. After buying the program and installing on my mac, now I find it is good for nothing. To check if it works, I need to buy the IOS app. I'm frustrated with this kind of offers where something is hidden. I will just delete the mac app and avoid the risk of finding more surprises.

iCloud Keychain doesn't seem to allow you to see the actual passwords, it fills them in directly. I have used this from the beginning and it has worked pretty well for me - I use it as a quick reference for accounts, passwords and secure notes. Combined with iCloud Keychain, I don't have to copy and paste the password anymore.

If you want to see you passwords, just go into safari prefs and in the passwords tab at the bottom, click show passwords.

Dumond, good tip. Finally, Apple have iCloud Keychain which gets closer to filling that gap, which Keychain2go and 1 password filled. How do you view your secure notes from the OS X keychain on you iOS?

Hi @Dumond

Re: iCloud - only seems to handle Safari passwords between iOS and Mac OS X

- not visibility of App passwords or Secure Notes from a Mac based keychain to iOS.

How is it that you are viewing your Keychain "Secure Notes" on your iOS?

However, these sites describe the transfer of keychain data only between Macs, leaving out iOS devices . Keychain2go includes the latter, too - sorry, my fault.
