Overview

Note: Apple implemented our tweak as a default setting in 10.8 Mountain Lion. So no further development will go into iCal Classic Page Flip. The fix will continue to work in 10.7 Lion.

iCal Classic Page Flip is a little SIMBL plugin for those of us who are frustrated by the very slow page animation in the latest version of iCal (the one that comes with OS X 10.7 Lion). Both Monthly and Yearly views both have an animation of a turning page, which might be nice on the first look, but it's time consuming and slows down the work flow on the long run.

This software is the solution. It disables the painfully slow animation of the latest iCal version and gives you back fast navigation in iCal. Now again, you can use cmd + arrows to move to the next / previous month or year in iCal blazingly fast.

Steps to install iCal Classic Page Flip:

Install latest version of SIMBL: https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/18351/simbl
Download the iCal Classic Page Flip-bundle
Move the bundle into ~/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins (Note that both SIMBL and Plugins folder may not exist. Simply create those folders if you don't have them already.)

Thanks to the developer(s) for this. I don't recall an OS update from Apple that's had more demand from users to "return to the old way of doing things" than 10.7 Lion. Change back the mouse scrolling, return Mail to its old look, etc, etc.
