ProcessTimer

1.7.4
27 August 2016

Display CPU utilization and more.

Overview

ProcessTimer displays the architecture, CPU utilization and percentage of real memory used by the process that has GUI focus. By default, it "follows" the process that has GUI focus, the frontmost app. The default behavior can be changed by Hold Process, and ProcessTimer will follow the specific process for the remainder of the lifetime of the process, regardless if the frontmost app has changed.

There are plenty of features packed in ProcessTimer besides CPU utilization reporting. It also has formidable screenshot grabbing capabilities. It can grab a screenshot of an app in five unique ways.

Features
  • Open/activate an app
  • Set an app to open at login
  • Open the preferences file (plist) of an app
  • Show the Finder info panel for an app
  • Reveal an app's location in Finder
  • Grab a screenshot of an app in five unique ways

Initially, I developed ProcessTimer to monitor the CPU utilization of apps. I just wanted to view the CPU utilization with a big font size at all times regardless of the level of an app window. ProcessTimer is like a toolkit for me, packed with many features which I believe are useful. I use it to create professional screenshots, monitor apps, force quit apps, explore contents of apps, measure performance of apps and much more! The intention has consistently been to keep it simple, easy to use and configurable, believing that it could be useful to others.

You can temporarily access an up to date version of ProcessTimer from within SixtyFour (another app), planning to release a standalone version of ProcessTimer hopefully end this year!
