This Test Utility works quite well and is part of the NetUse Monitor app. The author has provided me with excellent support regarding configuration questions. I highly recommend the NetUse Monitor app as it is the only app for the Mac that can measure/log reliably the WAN traffic from your router to the ISP gateway.

Just plain stupid to require an App store signup for a free test app that gets discarded after testing anyway. The steps one has to go through to get it, is just ridiculously complicated. More so, because my Apple login password can't be remembered and 1Password can't auto-fill outside of browsers. What was that SJ wanted? Getting there in maximum three steps???

App Store sign up? Don't you have an Apple ID already? So what's the problem?

Test always results in a statement that my FIOS M1424WR modem will not support the test, or my password is wrong. My modem login password is correct. Which port does the test utility use so I can adjust my firewall, Little Snitch and Virus Barrier X6?

this is an SNMP test. if you modem supports SNMP then it will pass the test. the password required is an SNMP community string you should configure in your modem settings.

I would have liked to try this, but I cannot get Appstore to work. I cant even log in to my account, Why, well I suspect that as appstore is sending information on http/https to Omniture (just like my bank does), and I block these requests, cant think of any other reason.

I am not prepared to comprise my security (as no has ever told me when requested what info gets sent), so I will have to go without.

I wish you every success with your app.
