With ChronoAgent, your Mac can mount another Mac. That's not a problem, but you only have the same access as the user you are logged in as. There is no way to mount another Mac and gain full access to the destination drive. Until now.

ChronoAgent is a utility that runs on the destination Mac and communicates directly with ChronoSync, giving you full root access to a destination Mac. Now you gain full access to both Macs and can copy anything. No restrictions. Apple doesn't even offer that. Besides full access to your destination Mac, you get a direct connection. Since

Why didn't I buy ChronoAgent sooner! Wow, it really makes
syncing much easier and faster. Setup was easy too. Best $10 I've spent in a long time. Thanks.

I have been running ChronoAgent in conjunction with ChronoSync for several years. One key feature for portable users is that the agent will wake the computer for access while on a wireless connection. This makes it a great backup solution for users whose portable is their primary computer.

You can connect two Macs with a firewire cable using Target Disc Mode and gain full access if you ignore permissions. Two flaws with that. You don't have control over users, groups, and permissions. And if you need to sync over a long distance you need to have a very long firewire cable. ChronoAgent does not have any limitations.

Took my two days to find out who kept my Mac mini en iMac (both with 10.7.3) from sleeping, this 1.3.0 update was the 'criminal' :-(.
With the earlier version no sleep issue at all. Double checked it on my MBP (also 10.7.3). Same there. Please fix this soon!

Since ChronoAgent connects directly with your Mac, you no longer depend on mounting via AFP or SMB. This connection is not only direct; it is much faster.

ChronoAgent runs in the background as an invisible application and is controlled in the System Preferences of your Mac. ChronoAgent only communicates with ChronoSync, meaning you need to have ChronoSync 4 in order to communicate with ChronoAgent. Both are separate purchases. Visit the developer's site to learn more about ChronoSync.
