Opens a terminal window to the current directory in Finder.

Overview

Go2Shell, built for power Terminal users, opens a terminal window to the current directory in Finder. First - Launch Go2Shell. Then - Select your favorite terminal application. Finally - click Install Go2Shell To Finder.

Looks native!
At last! We created separate Go2Shell icons for each version of Finder. We support all Finders from OS X 10.6 to 10.10.

Let your life be a bit easier with tiny Go2Shell tool:

  • Works with Terminal.app, iTerm2, xterm. Name another and we will add it.
  • Native icon in Finder toolbar
  • Tabs
  • Retina display support
  • Easy install
  • Note: While the software is classified as free, it is actually donationware. Please consider making a donation to help support development.

What's new in Go2Shell

Version 2.5:
  • macOS Mojave support
  • 64-but support
  • New Icon

Very cool. Thank you. I noticed a small thing. I view the toolbar as Icon Only. Your icon is a few pixels low compared to the others on the bar.

Just a few... but Steve would notice. :)

I know that you say go2shell is only supported up through 10.10, because that was all that was out at the time, and it works great. But 10.11 is now out (and has been for some time) and go2shell does not work with it. Do you plan to make it work with 10.11?

Hi :) We noticed that too. But that is how Finder works, it resizes 32x32 icon in this way. We did tens iterations to make it look as native as possible. The only way to make icons 100% native is to run a service like Dropbox does, but that is too much for a tiny utility like go2shell.

Why does version 2.1 open an outbound TCP connection when invoked from a Finder window toolbar?

Please update to version 2.2.
Go2Shell opens TCP connection once in a three days, to check for updates.

Works as advertised under Lion. The customizable command is a really nice touch.

By the way, I like that this one doesn't run as a background process, unlike some similar solutions. I combined it with the built-in keyboard shortcut to have the ability to open selected Finder windows -- see these links for details:

Doesn't work with Mavericks finder. You can't drag it to the finder bar.

You have to hold command, like everything involving menu bars. Not worth a 1 star because of that.
