What is AirServer for Mac

AirServer is a Mac application that adds AirPlay/AirTunes audio, video, photo, slideshow, and mirroring receiving capabilities to your Mac. With AirServer you can now receive audio, videos, photos or slideshows from any AirPlay compatible application running on your Mac, iOS, PC, Chromebook, or Android device.

AirServer turns your Mac into a universal mirroring receiver, with the exception of Miracast, allowing you to mirror your device's display using the built-in AirPlay or Google Cast based screen projection functionality; one by one or simultaneously to AirServer.

Users can mirrror or cast their screen from any AirPlay or Google Cast compatible device such as an iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android or Chromebook. Windows and Linux platforms are also supported using the screen casting sender built into the Google Chrome browser.

Patchy and security threat! it happened a few times that I could see someone else's screen on mine. It just happened randomly - a window opened and there it was, I could see someone else working. The first time I saw the person's email address and emailed them - they didn't even have air server open! So how did that happen because I could see everything they are doing. Contacted Airserver but only got arrogant messages back saying it was my fault and that our security has been breach apparently instead of trying to figure out whether the mistake could've been on their side. I had the same issue in two offices now on two networks - and only ever with air server. They really need to get this sorted!

I cannot endorse this product. In full-screen mode on my Mac the application crops my iPad screen on all four edges. This feature is essentially is NOT full-screen mode. We call this zooming in. When contacting the company about purchasing their product, they were quick to reply. Upon contacting them with troubleshooting issues they were very slow to reply, and they responded with incorrect instructions. Their techs have never used their product! Once I insisted on a refund, the company was even slower to reply (reply pending days now.) This feature is effortless and straightforward. Apple should put such a feature right into the operating systems. They have air streaming from device to Apple TV. There's no reason why they should not be able to do the same device to device. For the cost, this should work better, much better. If Apple includes this feature in their next updates, this company (along with a few others) will lose their products entirely and be out of business. The next question is: If Apple were to include this feature, what will this company do? They have do not have a future. I don't see a reason to support a company without a future. For your benefit as a customer, move along.

Again! The update from v6 to v7 is free! <3 Note: One thing AirServer can do that Kodi still CANNOT is mirror iOS device video using AirPlay to a Mac. Seriously, Kodi can't do that, at least not at version 17. I double-checked.

Nice app, but Kodi does this for free, amongst tons of other features.

The developer's website says, regarding v6: "Compatible with iOS 9 and El Capitan: Free update for all existing users". Result: Version 6.0.0 is FREE for all paid users of AirServer. I installed the update over version 5.3.2 (the last of version 5) and verified this is the case. √ (^_^)
