VirtualC64 overview

VirtualC64 is a user-friendly Commodore-64 emulator. It utilizes a cycle-based simulation engine to achieve high compatibility. Although cycle-accurate emulation consumes more computing time than, e.g., line-based emulation, all modern machines provide enough computing power to imitate a C64 in real-time. VirtualC64 does not yet reach the awesome compatibility of the classical emulators such as Hoxs64, Vice, or Frodo, however, plenty of games are already running, and the list of compatible applications grows with every new release. Right now, VirtualC64 supports the following file formats: D64, T64, PRG, P00.

VirtualC64 is open-source software published under the GNU general public license. The core emulator is written in C++. The graphical user interface is a native Cocoa application written in Objective-C.

Also there is a problem when using the second controller. The speed of the emulator is affected and gets slow when you push in a certain direction. (I think that it's left)

Virtual C64 is a good emulator but we NEED an Apple Silicon version! Also it crashes sometimes when opening a second window. And the virtual keyboard is not visible (the icon) when you use it in a small window. (there is enough space but it doesn't show up). One other problem is the fact that you can only copy a limited number of characters in the emulator (when writing basic code) You can't copy paste your entire program. Very annoying.

Very nice. Just too bad it goes to metal while dropping OpenGl support. There are still many computers which are not Metal ready.
