I give this app 4 stars or more across the board, because it worked well and it was very convenient being able to make a call from my MacBook. But the overall score of 3 stars are for my gripe with the company itself. I stopped using this only because I didn't use it all the time, and was getting nag emails to use it or lose it. They provide you with a free local phone number, and I had given that out to several people. Then I went on a photo assignment in Ukraine, and when I came back I had an email saying that they were going to reclaim the phone number because I hadn't used it in a while. I can see why they might need to do this, but they should make it a longer time period. I don't think 6 months would be unreasonable?

"Free phone calls" seems to be simply not true. For me a phone call is a call to a phone number and all this application offers for free are calls from one registered user to another registered user (of which there are probably rather few). In other words: it is something like a completely irrelevant competition to Skype or FaceTime.

From the developer's website, it appears that this is not actually free, although a limited (20 minutes of talking) 1-month trial is free. So yes, the app itself is free, but the service isn't.

Like so many other developers who create some nice apps for Mac users... but forget that there are many hundreds of thousands of Mac users who do not live in the USA. They are missing a huge market when they choose to ignore those of us who do not live in the USA, but still use a Mac.

I think thats because the phone companies don't support this kind of stuff. Anyway who needs this when we have Skype and its free!?

It's not directly available that I can find; all links lead to the dreaded AppStore. And until it gets an android version, it won't be as widely used as other services that do have such. Most of us looking at free calling internet services sooner or later have to deal with something beyond the big two proprietary operating systems.

Works great on iPad and iMac running lion. You must llisten to a 20 second commercial before your call goes through. Great when you'd on the iPad.
