Plays fireplace video for the cold winter.

Overview

Fireplace...Brrr! This winter season has been unusually cold, but we have just the remedy: a warm, beautiful fire to chase away the chill! A click of a button will play a video of a crackling fire that fills your entire screen. Use it to create some atmosphere for a romantic evening, or relax by yourself with a cup of tea after a long day.

Features:

  • No obvious looping like other Fireplace apps
  • Carefully constructed fire with a coal bed that took hours to develop.
  • Dual screen function that allows you to enjoy the app on one screen while you work or play on the other.

What's new in Fireplace

  • Takes up less disk space... uses the same great video that you've come to love.
  • Consumes A LOT less CPU.
  • Nicer icon.

Really wish this had a direct download. There are issue with 10.6.6 that keep a lot of professionals from upgrading, and thus being able to access the App store.

NO APP STORE! WHAT A BLOOB! I read about this in Mac|Life. Not going to get it when I'm forced to go to the stupid app store. According to info I've seen, this used to be free, and now if you use it free it has a big ugly thing on the screen to buy it. Nope, none for me thanks, I lead a simple life.

Yeah, no CrapStore for me either, thank you. I much prefer to purchase software directly from the developers. Ah well, spring is soon upon us and no need for fireplaces again 'till next winter.

Cute. Useless, but cute. No prefs, so full screen mode cannot be initial mode (must toggle). Needs to be a screen saver, not a looping QuickTime movie. I have to admit that it give my wife a start when she saw my monitor on fire.

Looks interesting. Too bad one has to hassle with Apple's store to simply download and try it.

You give an application 1/2 a star not because it is bad, but because you do not like the app store? Thats plain stupid. Why not simply comment you'd prefer a direct download - but if you rate an application, then please, rate the application!

Apples Dictatorial and greedily conceived App store Sucks! To be crudely blunt and should be boycotted, when ever possible. Apple should change name to IBM!!!!!

I worshipped Apple when they were struggling and I loyally supported them. Now that they are the biggest company in the universe I want to take up arms and destroy them. No more tyranny. I want to be FREEEEE!!!
