I don't understand why the developer can't provide a demo version. I'm not of the: "trust me you like it crowd". It's not the easiest thing in the world to get a refund from the Apple store if the product does not meet your expectations.

Just ask us for a refund ... we do not want your money if you are not satisfied with iNet ... :-)

There is a free version available (no disturbing advertising!): iNet Network Scanner (Not iNet Pro Nerworkscanner). You can use the scan engine in full, only other features are disabled until you upgrade to the Pro version. http://appstore.com/inetnetworkscanner

I'm looking for a free trial version for macOS. Not the iPad or iPhone.

The iPad version is available as a trial version. It looks substantially the same as the version shown here. I'm thinking about purchasing it. The demo seems very useful. If you have an iPad try it.

I am a network admin with no relationship with the seller..

This is the net admin's best little helper. Not because it is no sophisticated, but because *anyone* (i.e. your Users!!!) can use it and read back what they got. The presentation of the information that iNet gathers is really good, intuitive, and difficult even for beginners to misunderstand. This is it's best feature, and it makes it far superior to more technically advanced tools that only a techie can use - because it does not require an expert to set up and run. iNet gives you a great overview of which networked devices are reachable from your Mac, and which services are visible. Nothing fancy, just the basics. But 99% of what you usually need when something goes awry. And since I do a lot of remote work, I have my users all install this great app, and have them tell me what they see. Usually that is enough for me to diagnose what has gone wrong.

Honestly, I can't say enough good things about this product. I have owned it for roughly a year and use it all the time. It is extremely handy when troubleshooting network problems at friends' houses, or at a coffee shop just to see how many users are using the network. Something I really like about this software is that it has continually gotten better and better. The developer has added new things on just about each release. I feel I have more than gotten my money's worth. I've also purchased the iphone version as well - also excellent!

The new csv-export feature works very well for me. Now I can keep a list of the changes of the networks I use in a Numbers table.

Still in the beginning, but if the developer will integrate the other features of the iNet Pro App for iPhone this is a perfect solution to get a fast overview about all devices connected to your network. The user interface is very nice and simple to use.
