This is the net admin's best little helper. Not because it is no sophisticated, but because *anyone* (i.e. your Users!!!) can use it and read back what they got.
The presentation of the information that iNet gathers is really good, intuitive, and difficult even for beginners to misunderstand. This is it's best feature, and it makes it far superior to more technically advanced tools that only a techie can use - because it does not require an expert to set up and run.
iNet gives you a great overview of which networked devices are reachable from your Mac, and which services are visible. Nothing fancy, just the basics. But 99% of what you usually need when something goes awry. And since I do a lot of remote work, I have my users all install this great app, and have them tell me what they see. Usually that is enough for me to diagnose what has gone wrong.
