Tried it and honestly it's not worth it. Can't say it adds anything fantastic. Weather is ugly, It's clunky to setup, Didn't find or add my media with little configuration steps. The Online page that shows hulu and netflix is some strange hybrid webpage hack that my normal remote doesn't respond or work with at all. Once again Plex is *free!* and has a much better feel easier setup. If you use one of the AppleTV themes for Plex it will even work mostly like appletv. Save your money

While a cool concept for a Mac Mini, this product is essentially end of life with 10.6.x, as 10.7 is reportedly deleting Front Row...

I do not know exactly how to behave with this product. I purchased the product from MacUpdate and I saw that it was possible to download from the site of MacUpdate. Now with the updates I do not know exactly what to do. From the site of Mirow I can not download because they do not even know who I am . . . . . From the program I do not understand how to do and does not seem possible. I download from MacUpdate still version 1.0 and not the next (1.0.4). There seems to be the way to be organized? Can someone explained how to update Mirow? I say this because all other software purchased by MacUpdate are all OK! Not this!

Does this software make Front Row able to use local languages (not the GUI text language but the movie voice streams)? If i play movies or trailers in Front Row it always switch to english language but didn´t use the german dubbing.

With version 1.0.1 the developer fixed the bugs I was having. The online instructions are coming along. Looking forward to the netflix plugin. Now I can give it five stars.

Because version 1.0.1 was completed so quickly, fixing many of the bugs in the 1.0 version I'm adding a star to my previous review. This is a great app with a ton of potential - and something that is definitely worth the price of admission.

OK today with version 1.01 of the MiRow app I was able to get the software working fairly well on a PowerPC computer, which if you look at most of the competition requires an Intel chip. The big plus with this software is it can stream a movie even from a USB drive, it offers IMDB coverflow so you get a professional cover of the movie and description. It will display the weather, you can surf, it plays your itunes wonderfully, Netflix they say is on the way. I even figured out how to get Canadian weather on there, its a manual plug in of the code but it works and maybe someday they will build more searching. You pretty much need the ipod/iphone app HD remote to get great functionality. While still in the early versions of the software, I'd have to say the app does offer a lot of benefits for viewing your digital media on your TV set. Its a bit of a learning curve right now, but compared to expensive cable or satellite, I think this is the way to go. Its clean and polished and the web is offering a lot of services and ways to view media, breathing new life into your mac mini or apple machine. So for me, looking for an all in one application, this fits the bill. Sure there are a few loose ends and a learning curve, but its pretty polished for a 1.X app and I hope they continue to make this even better. A few movies I need to rename to get the covers to show. I tried out other apps that were more restricted with formats, or simply needed a newer machine. Blown away when I saw the Oscar icons and the movies nicely sorted by genre. I'm glad I took the plunge and have moved my digital stuff to viewing regularly on TV.

I could write an entire review of MiRow, but ALEXL54 hit the nail on the head for his review. Priority 1 for the developer fix the weather app crash. You can manually edit the plist file to add your city and zip. It is located in your home folders /Library/Application Support/Weather/ The rss app also seems to exhibit the same bug as the weather app. You can also manually edit the rss plist file located in /Library/Application Support/RSS/ Priority 2 for the developer should be easy to follow instructions, specifically for Sapphire the Media app. In the meantime you can check out Sapphires manual http://appletv.nanopi.net/manual/ just skip the installation part of the manual. I kind of feel like a version 1 beta tester. I also feel that MiRow has great potential if given enough attention by the developer. Minus 1 star for not having documentation ready on launch day.

Nice little app, does what it says. but be warned, the "weather channel" is all buggy, it crashes when you try to open. And is sad to say that if you're out of USA you're not going to have access to last.fm, i hated this fact (at least if you're in Brazil, like me. Don't know why, brazil does as access to last.fm) Please developer, find a way to other countries have accesses to Last.fm, one of the reasons i bought this was to access the last.fm

after 5 hours of beta testing here's what i have already found... on screen keyboard crashes to desktop when clicking done in weather or rss apps. no usable instructions. had to manually edit weather plist to add my city. still trying to figure out the media app (saphire). I would also really like to know what files were installed and where. but hey it was $12.58 and it sorta works...

This is my first purchase from MacUpdate, but I wanted to take the time to write a review as overall I'm pretty happy. I gave it 4 stars as I really like some of the features, but there are some things I would like to see added and improved. The Good: 1. The web browser is well laid out, and easy to navigate. It still is a web browser, so if you're looking for a dedicated Hulu app this is not it. 2. Last.fm is visually very appealing. It plays radio stations just like iTunes music (with added artist bios), and works quite well. I haven't used Last.fm much before so there are a lot of features there I still need to explore. 3. Downloading metadata and organizing my files has worked well so far. I tried playing a few and had no issues. The Bad: 1. There seems to be an issue with the Weather app - it seems they're aware of it as I promptly got a return email from support with a workaround. 2. Entering text with the remote is a bit tedious - I suppose the Remote HD app would help with this (though an extra purchase is required). What I would like to see added/improved: 1. Better weather app (more than 3 day forecasts). 2. Support for EyeTV files. 2. Better documentation of features.

Developer really should have provided a pdf manual or a notes (bad). weather app crashes back to desktop when trying to add location or edit an existing location (bad). where the f is MiRow installed??? no app in applications folder, it installed the software somewhere (very very bad). did I mention a manual would be nice... Classic Cluster F*** of a new software release

Doesn't actually work with hulu - just goes to hulu website and the remote doesn't do anything. Rip off.

I noticed this as well in the above description: "Unlock access to the massive Netflix movie library without breaking a sweat. Coming late 2010." I'm sure that most people, but maybe not all, might know that you must have a current subscription with Netflix, all this does is allow you to play your Netflix Watch Instantly queue via Front Row. It won't actually "unlock" Netflix to those who don't have a subscription. Another example of the developers being perhaps a bit disingenuous? I couldn't tell you because even though these people have my money, they have failed to give me what I paid for in the form of a download link. Also, Plex does stream your Netflix Instant queue as well, for free.... plexapp.com
