cf/x collage is specifically designed to quickly assemble pictures into great-looking collages
cf/x collage is a tool specifically designed to quickly assemble pictures into great-looking collages. The application provides simple tools that make arranging a collage, composing individual images, and changing whole layouts a snap. When you are done, you can export the result to many different file formats, transfer to cf/x alpha, upload to social Web sites, or send them to your printer. The process of creating a collage is simple, and has been streamlined for fast results. All you do is drop images onto the canvas, and then arrange their layout. Individual images can easily be composed (zoom, pan) directly on the canvas. If you do not like a particular layout, you can either easily re-arrange it yourself of have the application create a new layout for you.

This software is great, but it's missing one feature that I believe is crucial: disabling outer border while maintaining the borders between images.
This is important for those of us creating slideshows that mix individual photographs with multi-frame photo collages. At present, I either have to draw a border around the individual non-collaged images (and hope I get the dimensions right, as Collage does not allow you to enter a precise figure for border width) to match the border found on in the collage slides, or have slides that are incongruous, going between full-bleed slide to bordered collage slide.

cf/x collage has been a fantastic app so far. I downloaded the trial and found myself loving it right away. I bought the full version soon after. It is more feature rich than competing apps I demo'ed, and the newly introduced HTML export feature is unique (as far as I know) and has the potential to be very useful for webmasters and professional photographers who want to share their work online with clients.
I contacted the developer with a few suggestions on how to potentially make the HTML export more useful. Christian at cf/x responded very quickly with an in-depth response. I was happy to see that they take customer feedback seriously and are there to make their customers happy.
All in all this is a great app that makes an otherwise tedious task very easy... and it's backed by great people. I highly recommend trying it out if you're looking for an app like this.

Creating picture collages has never been easier - upload, compose (with auto layout and rearrange) then print, send or post!

I often send a collage of pictures to friends to say thanks for a weekend we spent with them and as a souvenir. Up to now, I did this by copying photos into PowerPoint and it took me quite some time to adjust them to look nice.
Collage made all this a lot easier for me. The great thing with collage is its simplicity. At the first moment I was astonished that there exists a piece of software that does just one simple thing - a collage. However, by using it I realized the advantages of this; the program is extremely simple to use: Main functions are not hidden behind complex menu structures and you do not need to go through long instruction manual to know how the program works. The program offers all features to make my collages look great (drag and drop pictures from iphoto to collage, rearrange pictures within collage, move the frame and change its color and width, zoom and move pictures within a frame). The only feature I am missing is to be able to add text when I use my collage as an invite or greeting card. To do so I have to switch to Preview and add the text to the final collage within this program.
