WYSIWYG Web editor.

Overview

WebsitePainter is a Web editor for creating professional looking Websites, without HTML knowledge and programming. With a few clicks it is possible to create Web pages with elements like Web 2.0 buttons, gradients, round borders, hover effects, transparencies, continuous text, and more.

What's new in WebsitePainter

Version 3.4:
  • Built-in automatic image resizing: If you add an image which is unnecessary huge for a website, WebsitePainter now offers you to resize that image automatically, making your website smaller and load much faster.
  • Faster website upload: When publishing your website to the internet, WebsitePainter now only uploads changed files, if wanted. So making small changes to your website is now much, much faster.
  • New 'static' gallery mode: The gallery has now an additional new open mode: 'none'. Which when selected, causes that the gallery pictures are not clickable and cannot be made bigger.
  • Improved image quality: The preview image quality of the built-in image gallery is now much higher
  • Smart quote filter: Smart pasted text and smart quotes are now automatically detected and replaced when causing problems in code like PHP, JavaScript, HTML or CSS code
  • Compatibility with more PHP web servers: External PHP css files now have the extension filename_php.css instead of filename.php.css before, because some servers would try to run the .css file as PHP file.
  • Unsaved changes indicator: The editor now has an indicator showing if there are unsaved changes in the document

Seems like Everweb is the logical succession from this.

Nice app, lightweight but looks like I can do basically everything I want with it. I especially like the navigation bar feature!

imo too basic. No support for tables, ccs3... You still have to do a lot to get a nice site. Rapidweaver is way easier to create pro looking sites.

It does support tables, as well as css 3 (partially). Did you check the correct version? :)

I used version 1 before, and now updated to version 2, time to write a review :) WebsitePainter is a very easy to use editor. Basically you can click your website together from shapes, images, menus, buttons and so on. The resulting websites look surprisingly good and I even recommended teh editor to some of my friends. In short it's the best program for creating my websites I've found so far, and looks like I'll continue using it. :)

This application is quite buggy, I am now using a new application like this called: Quick n Easy web builder. which is much better and much cheaper. http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/41549/quick-n-easy-web-builder

i buy this software after trying a lots of other simple wysiwyg. Sure you don't have all the features of a more bigger software, so you have to work little bit more (lack of automatisation) but ratio quality/price is right ok. at this price, you can design practically anything you like, easy to use, can create a really professional job. and most important, i have received a excellent customer service, answering each of my question.

You would be better off with some other program to create your website. This program looks like a port from Window (and even that version has problems). I bought this program. Big mistake. I'd ask for my money back, but I fear that would be a longshot. I found Freeway to be far superior for the same money.

Needs alot of work...still very primitive. No tables. No lists. Watch out if you have a very large text field... test will start to overwrite itself creating a blob of text. Use with caution.
