News Anchor overview

News Anchor is the alternative news reader for those who don't like to read. Instead of displaying gobs and gobs of text like a list of never-ending e-mail, News Anchor allows you to rest your eyes and fingers while catching up with the news that matters to you.

News Anchor presents you with a television-style news broadcast customized to suit your taste. Unlike traditional news broadcasts, you can customize what news you want to hear based on your choice of RSS/ATOM feeds. Furthermore News Anchor works on low-bandwidth connection or even when you are off-line so that you don't have to experience "net lagging" while watching your favorite news shows.

With News Anchor you can sit back, relax, and enjoy your news feeds along with your meal and take your hands off the keyboard due to its hands-free, one-click operation. Just listen to Alex, the animated voice text news broadcaster, automatically presenting your feeds to keep you informed when starting your day.

No demo version at all, or am I just completely blind? The program certainly seems intriguing, but also potentially annoying if not implemented correctly. If ever a program *NEEDS* a demo version, this is it. Yet the only way I can find to get the program is through the App store at a non-refundable cost of $29.99. Thus there is no way to turn this potential customer into a real customer. Bummer.

I'm reluctant to write as bad a review as this product deserves, lest I sound like I'm a competitor. I'm not. I'm a lawyer and I live in Alaska. I was looking for an efficient way to get some of the information I pull in from all over the world, mainly RSS feeds. I've been looking to find one that will read them to me while I did other things. So, sucker that I am, sight unseen, I purchased this product and began to use it. It has been nothing but disappointing. I tried hard to make it work, but it has not lasted longer than a minute or two without crashing. My mac applications rarely crash. I go months without a crash. You almost have to try to write the program so that it crashes regularly using the world's most stable operating system. If this company has any integrity at all, it should refund the purchase price to users. It is the only way these people can continue to have fait their integrity is more reliable than their incompetent product.
