Works. It would be great to have the same kind of tool for Amazon's "Look Inside"/"Search Inside" service. ;)

Overall, a nice way to exploit and online resource that has given writers world wide something to worry about. Still, the developer made a big mistake using a trademarked name in the title of this software. Really, really foolish; and the disclaimer in the description won't mean squat for that.

Perhaps something like "G-Book Downloader" would be at least avoid direct confrontation.

In my work I depend a lot on Google Books postings of rare scholarly books, and since they have rejiggered their site to make it more friendly to portable devices, it has become much harder to use on a desktop PC. This includes the fact that they no longer offer a PDF download feature of their own. Just yesterday I was struggling with downloading a PDF of an 800+ pp. book and wasted a lot of time fooling with it without any good result Today I found this wonderful program which handled the job very gracefully in about ninety seconds. This will become a valuable addition to my toolkit. Anybody who seriously depends on Google Books needs to have it!

Actually they do still offer PDF download (at least of many Full View books), but it's a little harder to find the link now. The instructions here worked for me:

seems one has to know how to use it without revealing ons´s IP to google. Might be against the guidelines google imposes.

Concerning other comments: this has absolutely nothing to do with free ebooks or online availability or whatever, since those rules are not affected by this software.

Unlike the other reviewers who seem rather lukewarm toward Google Downloader, this reviewer think G-D is better than sliced bread, as satisfying as chocolate and right up there with sex!

As a book publisher, I am a Google Books partner. I like the fact that someday every book comprising humankind's knowledge will be instantly available to us.

These days, all of my research takes place online. I have become familiar with reading whole books onscreen but I don't always want to be dependent on an Internet connection. So I have several bookmarks folders full of Google books which G-D has now allowed me to download to my desktop.

Despite the comment of another reviewer, I certainly have never been able to download from Google Books using any browser.

This said, I hope Google won't cut me off!

Bravo, Google Download!!!

Works fine, and as per description as far as I can see. I can't make sense of previous remarks. This app. is not by Google: see developer's site.

Just tested it and it seems using it kicked me out of books.google.com, too bad. What now?

deinstalling the app, emtying the cache, restarting the network, nothing helped.
If I really fear something, it must me google blacklisting me, as they soon will rule the world totally. How to fix that problem? Anyone else got this too by using this app?

It works as advertised, no problem. But riddle me this, please. I can also download a Google Book PDF with any browser. I tried to download a book only partially available on GB (don't worry, folks, I chose a book for which I miyself own the copyright, so no animals were harmed in the filming of this test) and it didn't download anything more than you can read online. So what's the point of this?

Terrific Idea!

But this software is not yet delivering.

I'm afraid that even after the "update" there is still a bug in the software so that not everything which can be viewed on a Google Books title can actually be downloaded by this software.

Though I certainly look forward to when it can... please keep up updated! Well done.
