Love it!

For those who like this little application, but don't like the menubar icon:
1. Select Hide from the menubar icon
2. In the Finder go to ~/Library/Preferences/
3. Select "com.threemagination.capssee.plist"
4. Get Info (cmd+i)
5. Check the "lock" box in the Get Info window. Now all subsequent launches of CapSee will be hidden.

Two things would make this the best caps lock indicator out of those available:

* Make the menubar icon indicate the status

* Make the icon more user friendly -- a diagonal slash through it when disabled, for example

Useless. It's enough that you type something or you see the light on the keyboard. This app only slows your Mac and the signal isn't centered on every Mac. Besides, if you write some text with CAPS it's very nasty to see the CapSee image on your work.

Another feature request would be to check for updates automatically. That would totally rock. ;)

Pretty nice. I didn't want to pay again for the upgrade to the latest CapsLock so I would love to use this. However, I spend to much time watching the keyboard instead of the screen while typing so CapSee would be so much more helpful if it gave an audio warning too.

Very useful app. But, one feature request. Once running, this app has a menubar icon. Is there any way to run this app in the background (like RightZoom etc) without the menubar icon? Coz I have a lot of stuff in my menubar. And don't really want another one.

Actually there is a simple way to deactivate that key. Go to System Preferences - Keyboard & Mouse - Keyboard - Special keys (I guess - I have German as system language) and set "No action" for the caps lock. Voilá!

Thank you. A couple of years later, the location is slightly different, but it works just as well. I could not find this anywhere else.

I like this app. There are a few things to improve though.

Please let the app exist over all spaces and ignore expose by default. I was using it on another space and wondered why the app was not working. :/

CapSee 1.1 came out the other day (http://www.threemagination.com/capsee). The 1.1 update now adds support for Spaces, which addresses the issue you mentioned.

In my eyes a totally senseless tool. Sorry for that. It is possible to disable the caps lock via the system preferences very easy...
- go to the system preferences
- open up the keyboard setting
- click on the "Modifier Key..."
- select "No Action" for the "Caps Lock Key"
...and the Caps Lock will not bother you anymore

Simple app... does one thing and does it well. I like how the notification bezel matches the other Mac OS X bezels perfectly. Even works perfectly on my 7 year old laptop! Sure beats disabling my caps lock key!
