Interface for VPN server.

Overview

Note: FFT for OSX is no longer under development and the developer provides no support for it.

EasyVPN is an interface for the standards-based VPN Server that is included in Mac OS X. Apple provides an interface for OS X Server but not for regular OS X. EasyVPN provides a similar, yet simple interface to fully configure the VPN Server.

No wonder this app is only $5, it's basically a copy of iVPN! iVPN used to be free and open source on sourceforge. Before the developer started charging for it, iVPN was at version 2.4 beta i think. I know because I used it. If you look at the log messages from this app and compare them with iVPN version 2.4 beta, they're almost identical! HA! The only thing they seemed to have changed is the interface and they've added support for multiple user accounts. Also, the trial version isn't really a trial version...they stop you from starting the VPN server at boot, but all you need to do is copy some files from the app bundle and then the server will start automatically. You'd think if you were gonna copy someone else's app, you'd at least make an effort to hide that fact. Also, on a side note, I remember the source code for iVPN being BSD licensed, however, the developer doesn't seem to mention anywhere that they used this original source code. Hmmm...lawsuit? =/

The download link is broken. - This is an old version. The newer version is at the developers website. /downloads/easyVPN_1.5.3.zip My stars ratings are ONLY because I cannot submit without them. No indication of the program - haven't used it yet, getting new rev.

Fishy developer. I've sent two emails with questions (with a few weeks in between) and so far didn't get a response. Last email was sent a week ago (around the time when EasyVPN 1.5.3 was released).

I struggled (and failed) to configure the VPN server manually. Downloaded EasyVPN - all working now!! Well worth $5.

Simple to use? I can't find any documentation on how to set it up. No manual. The program is downloaded as a .zip file, and there is no manual that I can find. Also no instructions on the website.

Looks nice and easy but I have never set up a VPN so some basic instructions for beginners like me would make it easy VPN and then easy to buy

EasyVPN was built from the ground up. We decided that iVPN was too expensive and so built our own app that happens to perform the same function.

I was looking to use this as an alternative to iVPN. However, I've hit a problem: - On first launch, the app refused to activate the VPN settings - the 'ON' button quickly reverted back to 'OFF'. - The log file could not be read, since the vpn log file had not been created. - After quitting and re-launching, it's now impossible to progress past the shareware 'nag' screen - the Continue button does nothing, so the trial cannot be continued. App looks handy... if I could trial it successfully...
