Internet radio multi-recorder with 10,000+ stations.

Overview

Radio Gaga is the ultimate Internet radio multi-recorder. Listen to 10,000+ Internet radio stations.

The world of Internet radio is vast and eclectic. With an endless number of radio stations streaming music, you can listen to just about anything you want. Radio Gaga contains an automatically updated directory of 10,000+ radio stations from around the world, separated into genres, so you can easily find the stations you want to listen to.

Multi-record dozens of radio stations simultaneously
Radio Gaga is the ultimate Mac program for not only listening to Internet radio stations, but also for multi-recording them. Radio Gaga can multi-record as many streams as your bandwidth allows, and save the resulting songs in MP3 format, trimmed and tagged for export to iTunes (of course, without DRM). Radio Gaga even has filters, so you can record only the music you like and ignore the rest.

Record when you're away; listen when you're home
Listening is one thing, but you're not always available when the programs or music you like are on. You can use Radio Gaga's schedule feature to set up one-off or regular recording sessions, so you can listen when you want. You can even set up multiple recording sessions, for as many streams and at as many times as you want. The only limits are your bandwidth and your hard disk space. Radio Gaga saves the resulting recordings in its Tracks library where you can sort your music, listen to it, and export it to your iTunes library with a single click.

Stay in control
Listen to radios and recorded tracks on your Mac, and keep Radio Gaga out of the way. Use the program's mini-controller to control playback and volume. It floats above your other windows so the controls are always a click away.

A world of choice
Radio Gaga finds radio stations from around the world, and separates them into genres, helping you find the stations you want to listen to. With 27 genres (rock, dance, folk, metal, pop, classical, jazz, alternative, ambient and much more), and over 10,000 radio stations, you'll never need to listen to silence again. Its directory is automatically updated, so you always have the largest selection of Internet radio stations possible.

Add more radio stations
If you know of a radio station that's not in our automatically-updated library of 10,000+ Internet radio stations, add it yourself. Make sure to submit it to the Radio Gaga team so we can add it to our directory of stations. add new radios

Save songs and fill your iTunes library
Radio Gaga doesn't just record music and save it in anonymous files. Radio Gaga splits the recordings into tracks, and - depending on the program information provided by the radio stations you record - tags the songs and adds them to your Radio Gaga library. Select the songs you want to keep and one click adds them to iTunes so you can put them on your iPod.

Please Note Radio Gaga can be installed and used on up to 3 Macs concurrently. If you want to install it on more Macs, you must first Deauthorize one of the installations you have already made (which can be done from within the application).

I just paid the $19.99 and the GUI is beautiful but I haven't heard a SINGLE station yet! Every one I clicked on gave me the message that it was unavailable try later! I am a Jazz fan and tried quite a few jazz stations .Everyone gave me the same message. I then tried most listened to stations and got the same message. What Gives???

I've never seen anything like this. I try to open this radio gaga one day and can't enter the serial number. Then a few days later tried again. After searching I found this and many disappointed comments. How can this happen? You suddenly can't even use the app any more? Again, I've never seen this kind of thing before. Very disappointing.

I too paid for this. I suppose like France the developer has gone bankrupt and has his credit rating reduced.

Unbelievable, it seems RadioGaga simply doesn't exist anymore. No warning, no information, no refund, nothing. Can't treat customers this way.

No server. No site. I can seem to still add stations manually. I was planning on clearing up and reloading my Mac Mini...looks like that will be the end of Radio Gaga without being able to activate the software license.

10 October 2011: Is Radio Gaga still in business, or did it go ga-ga, bye-bye? I have three licenses, and I used this app in the past. I like it. But I haven't used it quite a while. Today, I launched it, but I got a message saying the app could not connect to its server and that the server may be down for maintenance. So, I tried to connect to the developer's site, and I got a "Gaga Factory" page that is not at all related to the product and looks nothing like the actual developer site. In my humble opinion, this is poor management, no matter how good the actual app may be. Any developer that provides an Internet-based service that is intrinsically based upon its server being operational ought to have a redundant server somewhere, even in another country, if necessary, to provide uninterrupted service. Similarly, any developer which puts its informational website, home page, instructional manual, tech support, and all other information on the same single server where it also provides a radio station service that occasionally goes down for "maintenance" is quite a few beers shy of a six-pack. Such a developer is hardly worthy of support. After all, they don't provide any. What entitles them to get any ... in the form of paying customers? Accordingly, I have downgraded my rating for this app, by taking into consideration that Radio Gaga is a SERVICE, not merely an app. Features rank high; but value and stability rank low.

This app does exactly what it says. Yes - it's not necessarily exact when it records, but, you can fix that with iTunes, or, re-record any song several times and pick the best outcome. The Gaga people will never be able to enforce standardization by the internet radio operators. Therefore, it will never produce perfect recording results.

A great piece of software to listen and record music from the internet. I greatly enjoy the selection of music I hear from this app. I often find myself recording music. I feel like a teenager again with my cassette recording boom box recording from the radio with this application. I love it.

The regular price for this app, as listed in the shopping cart on the developer's website, is $29.99. So what's the deal with that MU Promo "discount"?! Those of you considering this app may want to purchase directly from the developer's website. I got Radio Gaga as part of a bundle and used it for quite some time, but have since switched to Radium. Radio Gaga is a nice application, overall, and offers some arguably handy features that Radium doesn't have (e.g., recording capabilities, categorizing stations by genre). But Radium is half the price of Radio Gaga, feels considerably less bloated to me, and (in my opinion) is much easier to use. (I especially like being able to quickly switch stations with Radium, which means I suffer through far fewer "bad songs" when I use Radium.)

I have tried to add a new radio station and it won't accept it (it was somafm's Secret Agent). somafm's Groove Salad is already in Radio Gaga, but for some reason the app won't accept Secret Agent. I tried adding several other somfm stations, and it won't accept them either. I tried adding all of the different types of links to the stations that somafm provides on it's website, but no joy. This would be a great app if it weren't for that one problem. It's a bit restrictive to limit a user to preset stations without the ability to add more on their own, I hope that this is just a bug with this release. I will stick with iNet Stream Archiver for now. On a side note...users also cannot delete (or reset) any of the information in the most listened to radios list. It would be great if this was customizable, it would provide a quick reference list of custom stations without having to create a radio list for each.

Rather than a review, this is a question ... I would appreciate your feedback, prior to me purchasing the application. Do you know if Radio GaGa accepts feeds from stations OTHER THAN music stations? For example, sports or news. I am in Saudi Arabia, but came from the U.S. I would like to be able to download, for example, a Detroit Tigers baseball game from WXYT-AM in Detroit. The feed via MLB.com does not work (one gets 3 - 5 seconds, and then the audio is interrupted) ... I am attempting to determine of it is a firewall issue with KSA, a port blockage from the internet service provider, or the application. However, if I were to be able to listen via Radio Gaga, that is a very acceptable alternative, for which I would be willing to pay. Thank you for your comments. WGibson648

I got Radio Gaga as a gift, part of a MU Promo bundle, so I can't say much about the price. I'm not sure if I would pay $40 for the application, but I would be tempted. Really tempted. I tend to like foreign music, a lot of which is hard to get from here in the U.S.A. Radio Gaga has a large selection of radio stations from around the world, including Japan, Korea, and Hungary (the ones I've listened to so far). I've used the radio option in iTunes before, but the problem with iTunes is that half the time (or more) it doesn't give you the title of the song (radio stations on the radio and elsewhere online often give me this problem). And there's no way to get the music from iTunes radio (or other radios). I'm happy to pay for music if 1) I know what the music is so I can find it, and 2) I can find it. Radio Gaga not only tells you the song title and artist, it has the option to record what you are listening to and send that recording straight to iTunes. I find it easiest to leave it recording then edit the selection later. In this one program I can find out about a great variety of new music, learn the song titles and artist so I can find CDs, record the music so I can figure out if I really like the music or not, and if the song just doesn't exist anywhere I can find to purchase it, I have the song. I've come across a couple stations where it takes a while to buffer, and 1 where even after it finished buffering there was no music, but mostly it's worked great. The interface of the application is really simple to figure out, and I like the inverted look it has. All in all, it's an excellent program. I'm excited to find more great music!

I have to give a low rating because the app was not usable the past 10+ days. There is no communication or posting about the major outage. Basically, no support from the developer. I'd give NA ratings for features if I could, since I could not actually use them to rate them.

After being basically "off the air" for a few days, Radio Gaga is working again today, 1-4-2010. Except for this outage, Radio GaGa has been great. It would have been nice if the developer posted something on GagaFactory.com explaining what was going on... it was starting to look like they were either going out of business or having major technical problems. I kept getting the error: "Radio Gaga could not receive information from the radio list server. The radio list server is required to retrieve the list of available Internet radios. The server may be busy at the moment." It is much easier to listen to steaming radio with Radio Gaga than with iTunes, which has more limited selections. Radio Gaga is nicely organized, too. As long as it keeps working, I'll be a fan. I'd have given it a 5 rating, but since it wasn't working for a few days, I'm giving it a 4. It has a lot of cool recording features that are VERY easy to use, which records individual tracks and tags them with available info such as song title and artist and year, then you can also export the recordings to iTunes.

I bought this as an MUPROMO package. At first it was working fairly well. This it did do: 1. It played radio stations. 2. It recorded from multiple radio stations at the same time. This it didn't do: Cut the tracks up correctly. There was always some audio missing from the beginning of the tracks. Not something I'd want to be adding to my music library. However now there's a major problem. For 2 days I've been getting the error message "Radio Gaga could not receive information from the radio list server. The radio list server is required to retrieve the list of available Internet radios. The server may be busy at the moment." Thinking that maybe another program was conflicting, I've tried closing everything except Radio Gaga, and nothing's helped. I'm not real happy. Some of the programs included in the MUPROMO package I wasn't interested in. This program is one of the reasons I was willing to buy the package. If I had bought this as a standalone program I would be really really angry right now.

I have not been able to use Radio Gaga for the las 3 days-The station server is down. I have sent email to the developer on this and I am sure they are aware of it. I would have hoped something would have been posted on the site-where you can still buy the program on the eta when the issue will be corrected. I would have to advise anybody from buying the program until that time. It is a great program when it works.

Decent program. Does what it claims to. Just wish I'd tried it out before shelling out the bucks for it. The UI is simple, but not very intuitive, imo. Easy iTunes integration is a plus. Searching for a station could be cleaner. When you add a station ("Radio") not found in the list, there is an incredibly annoying UI bug that when you type the station information into the dialog, the keystrokes are still acting on the program. Example, Space will pause/play whatever you're listening to, RATHER that putting a space where you're typing. This is very annoying, and totally unexpected for a $30 piece of software. The next version or two should be pretty good, but I'd keep shopping around.

Still evaluating. It appears that at the very least it makes an excellent way to record hundreds of songs for evaluation before purchasing them at a higher quality level from iTunes. Love iTunes but sometimes the lead in to a song just is not enough to know whether I actually like it or not. I've used this app to listen to full songs and have then purchased the songs at iTunes. Great app but a little pricey.

I paid for this thing; however, I'm unable to get any download list in the "Pop" genre. I get the other genres I'm interested in. Every time I try the "Pop genre I get, "Radio Gaga could not receive information from the radio list server." I've tried morning, noon and night-is there a problem???

This is a really great program. I'm into all kinds of music, a lot of which doesn't get radio play, and I've found plenty of stations from around the world with the music I like. I set it one night to record from a dozen streams, and the next morning had a few GB of music to sort through. I love the interface, and the scheudles and filters give it lots of options for recording. Great deal, too, with three licenses at this price.

After a lot of trouble getting the stations to play and finally solving it I must give this app a 5 Star Rating. It is excellent in every respect and very ergonomic. I like Snowtape as well but the ease of use and the larger selection of stations has them all beat!

I Solved the problem on my own of not getting the stations to play. Here is the solution: It is SIMPLE! If you have Glimmer Blocker as I do go to the first pane and DEACTIVATE it (Just so you can use Radio GAGA you can reactivate it later) ALL stations will now play!

I use RadioLover long time. It require a little fine setting for Splitting file. It means some stream are different timing between File Information and 'Real' File change timing. Today I try 'Radio Gaga'. Yes nice UI, no trouble exporting to iTunes. But 'Radio Gaga' doesn't have Split TIming Control. Then my favorite Radio becomes mess. Sorry, I stay on 'Radio Lover'. BTW : No more Promo? Is that extended? If still Promo price, I may invest for expecting future Up-date.
