AlwaysONline is the latest release of the first utility designed to prevent AOL from (involuntarily) logging you off. Version 2.0 contains many improvements over previous versions of AlwaysONline. This new version adds 100% compatibility with all versions of AOL, and has been completely re-written to be quicker, more reliable, and easier to use.
What's new in AlwaysONline
Version 3.0 adds several new features, works with all of the new AOL timer messages, and includes a completely rewritten and greatly improved "activity generation" system. Version 3.0 also includes an auto-update mechanism, so that it can automatically update itself (over the internet) to handle new AOL timer messages.
I have been using AlwaysOnLine for many years and have been delighted. But now it seems like AOL has found a new way to disconnect you (or maybe it just drops connections because, well, you know....). Am looking forward to trying the upgrade to 3.0.
On 1/20/2001 I wrote a negative review of Always Online 2.2. Not satisfied with other products I came back to AlwaysOnline and gave it another try: I'm happy to say that it has worked beautifully...no problems.
