Photo Print overview

Photo Print simplifies the printing of pictures. Let's say you have a family party where you snap some photos and then you want to print them out for your guests. After you load them into iPhoto, you can then just drag and drop the pictures into predefined Photo Print layouts and then hit the print button. Or say you want to print out school pictures, Photo Print once again makes the task easy and swift. After you finish sizing and positioning the photos, you are ready to print! It is that easy! Photo print also has built-in filters that you can apply to your photos to make quick adjustments. This allows you to leave your originals untouched in iPhoto. Photo Print is a layout driven program and you can even create custom layouts, pages sizes and frame sizes.

Photo Print has been completely rewritten from the ground up. You will find it is far more capable than previous versions of Photo Print. It is also significantly faster and can deal with a lot more photos. With this version of photo print you can now save your creations as Photo Print documents.

All I wanted to do is to print 2 photos on one page. I could not do it with this app. I managed to add photos (not everyone knows drag and drop, but these seems the only supported way) but could not resize and move as I wanted. So I just used Microsoft Word what did the job.

As the developer of Photo Print, I will address all the comments below concerning versions 3.x and what version 4.x has to offer. First, Photo Print 4.x has been completely rewritten from the ground up. It retains many of the same concepts of 3.x, but implements the workflows with greater ease and sophistication. For example, creating custom layout templates is really simple. Just visually create a layout on a page and select a single menu item to create it. Another example is filters and effects for your images. You can apply real-time filters and effects through the "Image" sidebar. There are new capabilities like applying rotations to frames and images. Underneath the hood it has all that 64 bit goodness, vastly improved undo capabilities, snappier performance, and many more improvements. Many design errors were also fixed with 4.x. For example, when Apple switched from "iPhotos" to "Photos," they changed the way drag-and-drop worked by using the "promised file" mechanism for transferring drag-and-drop images. This one actually caught a few developers (including photo print 3.x) off guard. Photo Print 4.x now fully implements promised file support. I think you will find Photo Print 4.x vastly superior to version 3.x. Download the demo and try it out. Make sure you read the help files in order to get the most out of Photo Print.

Why this has so few stars as beyond me! After trying many apps., including iPhoto, this one is outstanding for its flexibility and ease of use: for the ability to layout single or multiple images on a page, to place and size each one exactly as required (even to overlap if required. and adjust them individually into the placeholders is as straightforward and reliable as it could be. Optional layouts are offered, but it is so easy to make your own as you work that I never need them. An outstanding workhorse for its purpose.
