The download link doesn’t work.

Leads to a DropBox error message.

I was so pleased when I saw this app as I have been a devotee of the sorely missed tubetv, which worked perfectly for years. Sadly I seem to have the same problem as many other posters below i.e. that tubepod asks for 'growlerhelp' and 'play sound', which I don't have. I've tried telling them that they're part of tubepod, following the post below that says the problem has been fixed, but to no avail. If anybody has any answers (uncomplicated ones please, I'm not a computer expert) or any suggestions of how to download videos off youtube for my ipod, then I'd be over the moon to hear from you. I've tried miro: useless unless you want to watch their selection of videos, I've tried download helper, which just messes everything up. Getting really fed up and frustrated with this now :(

I wouldn't download this. If you get it and click on it, it will open a little box asking you to locate growlhelperapp.app. If you don't have this on your computer, you will naturally press 'Cancel', but it wont let you. so then I tried to quit the program, but this didn't work.
If you are having this trouble, you have to force quit TubePod.

You might say: Well why don't you just download growlhelperapp.app?

well, you can do this, but if you read some comments made about it, you will find out, that:
1. It will take up 300 megabits... for what???
2. Once downloaded, it has started asking to locate it every time you open itunes.

Working great here, none of the problems listed above.

Maybe try deleting preferences?

Downloaded it on my MacBook Pro running 10.6.4. I add YouTube URLs to convert, I click 'Convert', it says 'Preparing to Download' and then 'Downloading' and sticks there without ever filling up the progress bar. It's logging two errors in the console log: "No result was returned from some part of this expression." and "Finder got an error: Can't get folder "Macintosh:Users:brian:Library:Application Support:TubePod:"."

I have the same issue as ROBERTS2424. Just tried TubePod for the first time today, popped in a URL (curious to see whether it was smart enough to grab the HQ version), but no go... when it was almost done I got the message:

"There was an error in calculating the conversion process."

Then I click OK and get the message:

"Where is Play Sound.app?"

(Hint: it's here, on MacUpdate, and not on my Mac since it's quite old and I have no use for it.)

So I click "Cancel" since I don't have Play Sound which yields the error:

"AppleScript Error File Play Sound.app wasn't found. (-43)"

Then the app crashes....

This should probably still be in beta... it will be cool when it works well (and if it grabs HQ video).

Can you please open Console in /Applications/Utilities and then try to convert a video with TubePod then search TubePod in console in the top right of the window, copy and paste everything it says into an email and send it to me (fiftyfour123@gmail.com). Thanks.

And by the way...HQ video support will eventually be implemented.

CA: I made sure to patch that problem prior to TubePod's initial release. What leads you to belive that is the source of your problem? Thanks.

When I launch TubePod, TubePod asks me where GrowlApp is. GrowlApp is not installed on my computer so I don't know what to do.

That's really weird. What version of Mac OS X do you have, and are you sure you have the newest version of TubePod (1.0.5)?

Okay... I downloaded 1.0.4 and the problem is not solved. I randomly selected this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5jMOK87N7A&feature=rec-HM-rev-rn

then clicked "Convert." It began converting, but then froze, beach-balled, and crashed (well, I had to Force-Quit the app). I can send you the error report if you want.

No support files were created; I think it must only create them when it successfully completes a process, which it continuously fails to do.

Hi, you are using an incorrect YouTube link. Please remove everything from the end except the video id. This would be the URL you should use: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5jMOK87N7A

I'll see if i can make it automatically truncate the URL to the proper format. But for now you'll just have to do it manually. Please let me know if this works.

Thanks.

It got one step farther but still didn't download. There was no beach ball, but the Convert and Empty Queue toolbar buttons started blinking and the download progress didn't move.

Every second it writes this to the console (whether downloading or inactive):
"Disk Users:david:Library:Application Support:TubePod:progresscurl wasn't found."

I bet that's your problem; it isn't writing that file.
