I was very excited to see the release of the ANT agent software for MAC! Now, I can uninstall parallels and Windows XP and take my Macbook Pro back to being a pure OS/X machine.
I downloaded the software, went through the installation and set up and in less than 5 minutes, I was finished uploading a months worth of workouts to Garmin Connect! Each and every step was documented on the Garmin website and it all went exactly as they described.
So far, I have no complaints and I look forward to seeing this run on my iMac so I can leave the Garmin Ant agent dongle attached all the time. I love the idea of walking into the house after a run or ride and as I set my 405 on the counter, it begins to download all on it's own and I don't have to start any other applications.
I hope everyone has the same easy install process that I did!
I am puzzled,
It has been years that I have used Garmin software on my iMac with luck and ..... not so much. Somehow the ANT Agent software that allows the data transfer from a Garmin device directly to their website, keeps on disappearing from my Application folder in the finder. I have no idea how many times I had to re-install it.
It is really no big deal, but does anybody know why ?
Thank you
Simon
my mac keeps periodically crashing too (kernel panic) after i installed the mac ant agent. might be a garmin or an apple bug. whichever it is, it might be a good idea to wait a little until potential problems have been ironed out....
also, automatic uploading to garmin connect did not work. when i tried to upload manually via the 'Upload' button on the garmin connect website, the browser plugin offers as datasources mounted removable devices as a SDHC card from my camera and a data volume mounted from my NAS but not my forerunner 405...
it worked loading the data into GTC, which is most important. i don't want to spend more time on investigating what went wrong with the garmin connect uploads as long as the kernel panic issue persists though.
