DjView 4.5 (from 2012) This freeware DjVu viewer comes with the DjLibre package, along with with a set of Unix command line tools for creating DjVu files from image files. The command line tools are only interesting to expert users, while the viewer application is currently the best freeware DjVu viewer for Mac. Notable features include: • Export to PDF export with adjustable maximum image density • Export as TIFF image or multi-page TIF file • Save As DjVue file for selected page ranges • Printing • Adjustable screen resolution setting, so that a 100% zoom on the screen can correctly show the actual size of the original • Single-page view / page spread view, continuous • Text search (if a file contains OCR text) The viewer has been ported from another platform and doesn't abide to the native OS X GUI standards. It doesn't use the OS X print dialog. Once a print job is sent off, it can only be checked on or cancelled using the web interface of OS X's underlying Unix Printing System (CUPS). To access the CUPS, use a web browser and type in the web address localhost:631 – or the local IP address 127.0.0.1:631. The web interface may need to be enabled first via the Terminal application, using the command cupsctl WebInterface=yes Things I wish it had: 1) Bookmarking 2) Use of OS X print dialog 3) Interfacing with OS X's text-to-speech system as well as Dictionary lookup. 4) Selecting text using the mouse.
