Vocab

2.1.1
12 October 2010

Helps you learn words in any foreign language and Latin.

Overview

Vocab helps you learn words in any foreign language - and Latin and Greek - quickly and successfully. It gives you instant access to all your vocab lists, and any other words you want to learn, making it easy to revise, easy to test yourself, and easy to become word-perfect in next to no time.

Test yourself against the clock, find out if you really know your words with random-order testing, and choose whether you\'d like helpful hints for words you\'re unsure of. With Vocab, you can customise your tests in many useful ways. It also highlights any words you get wrong, and reinforces your answer when you get it right. Results are added automatically to a log, so you can track your progress and see how well you\'re doing on a graph. And the application also includes a useful widget that flashes up a different random word every time you open Dashboard, enabling you to give yourself a quick test at anytime.

It\'s the ideal way to get the best results and improve your language skills!

I absolutely love this program, however I cannot open the Preferences, and it's really been bugging me. I go to File, hit Preferences and nothing happens. I've only been able to access it once, when I first downloaded it. I tried deleting and reinstalling the program, and it still didn't work. Any ideas??

We've had no other reports of this happening - if you contact us directly at enquiries@tj-hd.co.uk we'll do our best to fix it for you. Glad you like Vocab!

This program does its job, but it is rather basic. If type-rehearsing your vocabulary works for you, then you'll be just content. If you want multiple choice tests, pronunciation checks etc. you shold try out some of the other alternatives (some of them are free). You know, some people can't live without Word, while others happily write their letters in TextEdit.
