Simple way to capture and save an image or a movie of your screen.

Overview

xSnap (was Sequence) is a simple way to capture and save an image or a movie of your screen to your computer's clipboard, or a file (in an image format of your choice). A video or screenshot can be emailed, uploaded on the web, or passed around however you want. Using a multithreaded code and a 64-bit enabled compression system, xSnap can handle capturing DVD, audio, or any other multimedia application. xSnap is powerful enough to simultaneously record from your webcam and your screen. With the voice recording function, you can easily describe what you are doing on your screen. Simply use your Mac's built-in microphone.

With xSnap, its easy to make training videos, product demos, create tutorials, archive streaming video, the possibilities are endless! For instance, you could easily help your friends and family learn more about their computers. No need for boring and complicated documentation! With xSnap you can give clear and precise explainations, including mouse movements.

I really like the interface, and have waited several years for them to fix an issue with the program not recording audio. I have worked with support and done tons of troubleshooting. I have tried the program on multiple computers and had friends try it. The program does not work and has not been fixed for the last 2 years. Do Not buy this program without testing it first!

The update of late fixed the issues with screencast recording. Thanks for that. Now, the app works as it should! I wouldn't mind a little more extended export options, but otherwise the app is perfect! Recommended!

No, guys, please take your time to laugh by heart by reading the 'help": "The process for installing new applications on a Mac can be confusing at first because it differs greatly from Windows’ software installation process. " I ignore what is that cited 'windoz' and honestly don't care (and who the bloody hell should care about?) but telling that 'installing' an application on our Macs is confusing 'because bla-bla' is offensive even for the intelligence of a monkey! (perhaps they are the ones using that crap.. which was the name again? Win... LOOSERS! But don't stop, keep reading that 'help' and you really will start to ask yourself if they're landing here coming from the Planet Of The Monkeys!!!

Care to squander a few €? For the mere pleasure of it - apparently, it makes more sense (from the developer's standpoint) than to, say, donate money to IFAW (I beg to differ, but who am I - just another foolish consumer, right?). Welcome to xSnap, lasses & lads! I guarantee you: this purchase will be the most futile one you've ever ventured or - I presume - ever will. "Why?' - you'll ask. I'll explain: this rubbish doesn't record the screen. Haven't checked for its screenshot features (why would I - the OS X built-in screenshot utility suffices), but it will not - try as hard as you might - pluck your head to glorious baldness if you will - this rubbish WILL NOT RECORD A SCREENCAST! Simple! Spare yourself your money, use it prudently. PS: Yes, the interface looks good. Like that of many an OS X software. Functionality? Limited to the great property of having you regret the purchase of this bubbleware.

Forgot to mention: they could just as well post a screenshot with a picture of a worm or a bug instead of the Lion. This is perfectly inappropriate: makes absolutely no sense.

My problem with this developer is that they provide no means of downloading prior versions of their software. There are still many of us out there running Mac OS 10.5.8 on Power PC machines, mine being a G5 quad that I paid a few grand for. Their response to my inquiry was to go buy a new machine. Apparently, they have no concept of the current economic conditions in this country.

If I could, I'd give this a -5 rating. It has never recorded sound ever since I bought it over 2 years ago and even with a new update released today that was supposed to fix it all there is no sound. I talked online with their technician who came up with some excuse saying that it was no longer possible to record sound in Lion and then he closed the chat window without another word while I was still typing. Truly terrible. Inside the description at the App Store it says this version offers "improved audio record..."

There is actually a version 3 of Sequence available complete with a new dock icon but still after all this time there is no audio even with a brand new rewrite created specifically for Lion. I have been waiting more than 2 years for a version of Sequence that records audio and I'm beginning to think it will never happen.

produces low quality quicktime file after recording. The doodles is great though, but you cant add some while recording. Is there a way to customize the output file?

Looks interesting... But somehow limited for the moment. I hope there will be options to set the capture frame rate in the final version. iShowU does the same with far more control... For now.
