Convert text from Web page or document to audio.

Overview

EasySpeak... Have you always wanted the free and easy way to convert text from a Web page or document to sound so you could listen to it on your iPod or other media player. With EasySpeak, this is insanely easy. Simply take any test, paste it into the window and click speak. Your text will be spoken with the voice you choose.

You can also export the text in the voice you want to an .AIF file for easy syncing to your ipod through iTunes.

EasySpeak is absolutely free, we ask for a donation in return.

A very nice little app. Does what it claims to do, fast and easy. My only suggestion would be to add a progress bar for the saving process. When saving large chunks of text into audio, the file will appear on the Desktop immediately, even though the saving process isn't fully complete. (You can open the file immediately in QuickTime, and it will play only a portion of the text-to-audio saved up until the point you opened the file.) For very large blocks of text, a progress bar would be helpful for indicating when the save is actually complete! :) Great little app!

Hmmm, should I buy the text manipulation app from the developer who made SEVEN grammatical, typographical or spelling errors in his 96-word description? I think not.

Hmmm...... It won't run for me on 10.4.11. Comes into the dock briefly and then quits. This is what happens when trying (mistakenly) to run a 10.5 program. Is it possible that the description was meant to say 10.5 or higher?

Another user on 10.4.11. Bounces in Dock and quits. Even the website doesn't specify whether this is for Tiger or Leopard. I also examined the pkg. contents in detail. No help there either.

The website now confirms EasySpeak does indeed require Leopard, hopefully a MacUpdate admin will change the sys requirements to reflect this.
