Logs websites you visit for your accountability partner.

Overview

X3Watch is accountability software designed to help with online integrity. When you browse the Internet and access a site which may contain questionable material, the program will record the site name. A person of your choice (an accountability partner) will receive an email containing all questionable sites you may have visited. This information is meant to encourage open and honest conversation between friends and help you be more accountable to your online adventures.

Finally! I've been looking for an app like this for some time. Sharing pr0n links has always been tedious; emailing a buddy is the last thing I want to do after finding some hot pics online! Using X3Watch, I'm able to automatically update my friends on the hottest XXX sites, and that keeps my hands free for whatever else... My only suggestion is to make X3Watch configurable for different buddy sets, so for example I could have one set of emails for barely legal sites, and another set for glam sites, etc. Also, make X3Watch more easy to toggle on and off, so my friends don't think I'm a total pervert.

Sir, you are misusing this product. It is supposed to help people with a PROBLEM, not aid perverts. I used to have that problem also, and I wish that I had something like this. But you are staining the good intentions of this company.

I don't get it! Is this some way to censor web sites based on some criteria that is decided by some individuals that have decided that the web site(s) they have visited were in some way in conflict with their own ideas of what should or should not be there? Is this some attempt to curtail the free internet? If this is so then maybe the next step is as Leonard Cohen aptly stated in his song "Everybody Knows" a meter will be installed on our beds.Perhaps when someone comes across a web site that is in conflict with their morals they ought to just skip over it.{Just as there is a power button on our TVs...one doesn't have to view something that is in poor taste according to their own taste but to impose their taste on others that in my humble opinion is wrong.

It's not an assault on the free internet at all! The purpose of this software is for people who want to try and give up pornography - obviously not everyone wants to do this, but some people (i.e. Christians) may feel it's wrong but still have an addiction to it. The software logs what you visit, and then can send the results to a trusted friend of yours. It gives you a purpose and challenge to stay free of pornography and break the addiction. You don't HAVE to install it at all - for those who want to try and give up porn, it is a useful tool.

Also, I would like to add: It does NOT block websites - it simply logs them. You need to install other software to actually block a website.

People should exercise self control and NOT rely on someone to monitor and hold back their own addictions and desires. A Christian or any other person with a belief in GOD can always turn to GOD who will supply the strength to resist something that to them is irresistable. The STRENGTH can be found within YOU! Not from a piece of SOFTWARE.

Regardless, surely it is just another tool to help you in the fight against sin? Yes of course your strength should come from the Lord, but I don't see the harm in taking extra measures also to try and help fight the sin. I've been a Christian (well at least believing in God) for a long while and I've struggled with pornography. I went to a Christian festival recently, and I decided to kick the addiction and the pastor recommended I install blocking and accountability software to help. I don't see the harm. Anyway, I don't think this is the place for a deep moral debate! ;)
