Most helpful

On those rare occasions when I need this type of tool, Dupin was the one that was actually able to help me putting some order on my (multiple) iTunes libraries. Not only that but also the dev was really fast and helpful answering my emails. As someone that over the years used some of those great scripts that Doug Adams keeps on giving us for free, I didn't even had to think twice about buying this great app.

I reported a bug to the developer and he was quick to fix it! Great work! Definitely better than itunes built-in duplicate checker

Yesterday's update (1.30) on August 31, 2013 causes Dupin Lite not to open. The icon appears for a few seconds and then disappears.

The developer's response is disingenuous and unprofessional. This problem is clearly not limited to the two original posters, nor to Dupin Lite: my (registered!) upgrade from Dupin 2.6.2 to 2.7.1 also fails to launch. Worse: the Web page makes no mention of this newly introduced bug—indeed makes it difficult to report any bug, what with no online form and an e-mail address buried in tiny, gray print. Doug Adams has contributed so very much to the Macintosh community; this is not his finest moment.

I do not troubleshoot problems in the comments section of MacUpdate. This bug is limited to users on some European systems. It is clearly described on the Dupin FAQ page http://dougscripts.com/apps/dupinfaq.php If you have input to help solve this bug, please email me.

i'm giving this a bad rating because i paid for it and am angry because it deleted tons of my files and is giving me a huge headache. i'm generally very good at figuring out how things work but this program does not seem intuitive to me and when i thought i was deleting dupes for one album it deleted 500 tracks somehow. i may have made some error but it shouldn't be this hard to use -- i also had a hard time searching for certain tracks belonging to a certain artist etc. this was part of the problem. maybe the program works if you invest enough time to use it but i'm pretty pissed off with the results at the moment.

Excellent software from the unconstested master of iTunes plugins. Does what it says and does it well, and is reasonably priced.

(for all the people saying there is no support.. why would u need support in the first place? it works flawlessly!)

What? PPC support has been dropped? Super deal-breaker. I just bought this 2 months ago to use on my PowerPC iTunes server. Why Doug, why?

One MAJOR drawback is the tiny checkbox, make it very hard to quickly make changes to a filtered list.. for instance I have many duplicates with an added " 1" at the end of the filename and Dupin does not have a way to sift through my filenames and for example tell it to always reject a track if it has a " 1" at its end. SO ANYWAY I need to manually check the one I wanna keep and uncheck the one I want to keep.. which is when that tiny tiny checkbox is really a silly badly thought annoyance as it it hard to clic, responds badly to my nonetheless precise to my Wacom pen.

The "Shortest filename" option in the Filter Controls will automatically keep the track without appended numbers. Sorry about the small checkboxes. iTunes' enable checkboxes are even smaller, however.
