I recently purchased GarageSale, which I like so I was curious to try GarageBuy. I like the interface but for me there was one major problem that had me deleting this app after 5 minutes. Towards the end of the auction it doesn't show the countdown in seconds when most of the action really happens, so it seems to be fatally flawed. I don't understand why it's like this.

A huge step backward from version 2 in my opinion. You can't use folders and therefore it's hard to manage big list of searches. You're stuck with alphabetic sorting for searches. No more ical alerts. Why break something that works ? (my guess is because of iOS version) I can't use this version, I stay with v2 for now.

Since last update i have sometimes (1:5 runs) major problem after starting GB: 1. GB starts up and shows "No Online Connection" uper rigth corner. No searches are shown on the left side. 2. After that GB hangs 3. Even more problem - after that i cant start any other app they all stall. THat happenes to all Apps whoch needs internet. But i am sure that my internet connection is 100% available in this time. I have to reboot in this case to get other apps working again. Hope that is fixed in that version.

A worthy upgrade but missing some useful features from version 2. Searches are now listed alphabetically and can't be grouped in folders. The only show/hide option is for items that have been read - previously you could hide/delete items from the list leaving those you are interested in still visible.

This is the perfect ebay manager for me. It gives me the perfect overview in a very nice and perfectly usable graphical presentation. What I love most: - Autoupdate and autosave when you change some search criteria - Ability to duplicate searches - The push function for uploading the locally watched items to the ebay watch list - The progress bar representation of the remaining time of watched items - iCal integration - Growl integration A (very minor) flaw is that you can't copy the auction number from the auction details window (you have to load the web page into the viewer to copy the number).

Version 2.0.5 has sorted out the problems that have existed since they introduced version 2. A great shame that it took so long to rectify the serious flaws that existed in version 2, however it has been working reliably for me since I installed version 2.0.5 two weeks ago.

Version 2.0.4 is still an absolute disaster area and not fit for use. The position of the centre bar is reset each time the program is launched and the scroll bars don't work properly yet either. Worst of all is that every few days the whole system will reset itself and you'll have to trawl through all those ebay auctions you'd already hidden leaving you with no way to identify the news ones. After four updates you'd have thought they'd manage to at least fix the basic operation of the software. Oh, and don't bother trying to contact the developers because they simply ignore any messages you may send.

Since the upgrade to version 2 this programme has become unstable, searches freeze for no apparent reason; after restarting the programme one has to renew the searches again. Very annoying, I have contacted the developer but get no reply. Until version 2 the developers support was excellent and the programme worked very reliably. A great shame that there should be this deterioration in what was a great programme. I am suing Snow Leopard 10.6.4

version 2 is a bug nest for me, listing and redraw problems. I have to restart quite often. I've contacted the dev without any answer nor bugfix. It's a shame because it's a very good soft.

Very disappointing "upgrade". The position of the center bar is not remembered and has to be adjusted every time you launch the application. Scrolling through entries does not work - there may be, say, 50 auctions found but GarageBuy doesn't always show the scroll bar so you can't see them all. Regularly freezes, crashes then re-shows all of the auctions you had hidden. Stick with the old version as this one is unusable in its current form.

On my G5 PPC Mac GarageBuy 164 works very well, but when I try any of version 2 it will not work. I get the error: Validation of the authentication token in API request failed. I asked for help on the devs site, but they haven't replied. Its free and version 164 still works so I'll move on when 164 stops working.

Nice looking program. Crashed twice in a row doing a simple search. It is no longer on my system. MBP 17" late 2007, Leopard.

I decided not to use this app a few months ago, If I'm not wrong, I couldn't seem to get shipping cost for my country, seems like it didn't support international purchase Nice GUI though, but I'll stick with the manual method

This is so funny. Everyone shouting "it's free, it's free". Just to clear things up a bit: No it's not. For every purchase you make ebay pays an affiliate fee to someone. The best one is by KUKKIS: I would have no problem of paying for software like that. LOL.

Has far fewer search features than the ebay website, don't see the point. Nice interface tho.

Great program to search and keep track on large number of auctions. Please add sniping and price statistics! I would have no problem of paying for software like that.

I registered three tokens successfully but still kept getting an error telling me my user/pass were wrong - but there doesn't appear to be anywhere in GarageBuy to enter my eBay password without getting another token ... never had any issues with GarageSale, this is a bit of a disappointment.

garagesale is a great app but i'm afraid i don't see the point of garagebuy: * contrary to what the blurb says, i actually found it a lot slower than using ebay's own search * garagesale's interface is notoriously er.. 'quirky' but this is terrible! in the space garagebuy uses to display one or two listings my web browser can show me a list of about 20! * there doesn't seem to be anyway to do a non-specific search' - ie. on ebay, i can leave the search field blank while searching within a particular category to return all the items listed in that category. garagebuy returns no result unless i type something into the search box.

Great idea. Good concept. However, without sniping this app is adding nothing to my shopping experience.
