Impress your Web site visitors with interactive image maps.

Overview

RAGE MapDesign... Impress your Web site visitors with interactive image maps using standards based HTML and CSS. RAGE MapDesign provides an amazingly fast, easy way to create image maps for your Web site that respond to user actions such as moving your mouse over certain sections of an image.

Image maps are clickable images on a Web site that behave differently depending on where a user clicks on the image. The biggest problem when designing image maps is defining how your Web site should react when a user clicks a certain section of an image.

RAGE MapDesign offers a WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) user interface, allowing you to visually create simple or complex image maps for your Web site. In addition, RAGE MapDesign lets you add mouse-over and mouse-down effects using standards based CSS so you can easily make your Web site stand out among your visitors.

Since RAGE MapDesign uses only HTML and CSS, there is no need for your users to install third party plug-ins or add-ons. Your Web site will still be fast, responsive and compatible with all major Web browsers.

Make your Web sites come alive with RAGE MapDesign.

This app works very well to designate multiple or single hot spots to an image. I saw it first on sale the other day so I experimented using it versus Image Ready to see if it was worthy of my purchase, and it was. Much quicker and straighforward, and that is worth it to me. Stable too.

I don't make too many image maps, but If I do have to, this is a decent way to do it. It's a one trick pony, but it's a good one-trick pony.

Needed to create a simple image map quickly, this did the job fine. Clean and intuitive interface. Ran fine on OS X 10.9 Mavericks.

This software is pretty useless. It is very basic, only providing an easy way to create maps on an image - hardly worth downloading the software for. The example images on the RAGE website are directly misleading and the software cannot perform the same, unless you bring out your graphical editor as well. Do not buy.

MapDesign isn't an image editor, it is an image map program to create HTML and CSS image maps, exactly as the description states and the free download shows. You need to create the graphics but then you can use them for mouse over and mouse down effects just as we did in the samples on our website. That is why the price is just $19.95 USD. It's like saying don't buy an HTML editor, you need a graphics program to make all your images.

This is just a very basic image mapping editor. All mapping gets saved as rectangles only so it's potential is VERY limited. That's a shame because this could have been a fantastic tool for websites. As it stands it offers very little beyond placing a clickable box on parts of an image... and even then the box has a bad tendency of not even covering the area you selected. I give this app a 1.75 out of 5 stars.
