Synchronize and compare folders.

Overview

Match is a file synchronization tool specializing in:
  • Handling all kinds of file properties like capitalization, extension hidden, custom icons, etc.
  • Visualizing files and folders if they differ. All items are displayed flat: No clicks necessary to get at deeply nested files.
  • Presenting detailed information for each file or folder explaining how it will be synchronized.
  • Providing various means for sorting and searching to easily find the files your are interested in.
  • Synchronizing personal documents and project files. (Match is not optimized for handling huge numbers of files nor system files.)

What's new in Match

Version 1.3:
  • Added support for more foreign file systems.
  • Improved error message when adding an unsupported volume.
  • Fixed redraw glitch in Base Folder view while drawing the scanning indication.

Match is a great software - does what it claims to do, no-nonsense, lightweight, and simple. However, the price is exorbitant. $49? Are the developers crazy? I wouldn't pay more than $15 at most for this, nor will I pay for this until the price comes down to something a little more realistic. If you don't mind the slightly annoying demo-mode, then I highly recommend this app. It keeps my projects on my computer and memory stick nicely up to date, consistently.

I've been looking for an application that I can use to sync files and folders my iMac to Macbook (wirelessly) and between external storage without using cloud storage and after trying quite a few apps, I found that 'Match' sync'd everything very well without errors. It worked well for my two main apps i needed syncing, 1Password and Paperless.
