This program is amazing!!! Best yet. The only thing that bothers me is the inability to pause a session and resume. I often get stuck in the middle of a conversion and have to start over later. Maybe I'm missing something but this would be a five star review across the board if not for that feature.

Thanks, Brick Price

For some reason I couldn't enter a 5 for every field. Weird.

Attention downloaders of videos!

If you need the ONE app that could save you hundreds of hours of frustration then you've found it.

Not only does this app do exactly what it promises (unlike so many other apps out there) but their customer support is top notch.

Recently I had a challenge when transferring licenses from computer to computer. The Tastyapps team went way over the call of duty to help me out.

In and doing so I found out about Websnapper. Something that had totally eluded me to date (And I do web sites from time to time! DUH!) its a total non brainer.

I'm a real customer and not someone they found off Fiverr and I wanted them to know how much I appreciated their server.

And now I need to get back to downloading some more vids.

p.s. Thanks guys for helping me out with your support, Your app(s) truly are great!

Hi Mac, we have found that the untimely upgrade of Flash Player by adobe has been causing some troubles to some of our users. This is not related to videobox at all, but a bug of Flash player 13 in some OS X versions... We recommend that you downgrade to Flash 12 while adobe cleans up the house... see if this helps.

4.02 Broke the icon-app boot feature in Safari 6.1.2. Version 4.0.3 broke the icon button auto address link to the app. Version 4.0.4 broke continued the latest incompatibility trend (OS X 10.8.6 on a 3.4 GHz i7, Thunderbolt 27" iMac with 16GB RAM). Version 4.0.5 only recognizes about 60% of the Flash movies even when I manually boot, manually paste in a web address and repeatedly hit the play and page update icon.

This (once) indispensable app is rapidly becoming the latest greatest Flash downloading app. Let's hope they start working in some backwards compatibility? 1 star off because hope springs eternal. : )

Hi Dorian, we are a bit confused with your comment. Videobox works in 10.6 and above, and we make sure it does in all releases. We did discontinue Leopard a while ago. And the icon-app boot features and all the other buttons are fixed in 4.0.5, which also includes loads of new sites, so it is clearly working better than ever... Let us know if you are having problems, we will try to help.

Nailed it. The new version of Videobox is amazingly fast, finds exactly the running vid that I want to capture, does away with the "phantom sound," and is rugged. The developers are right, they really came through with Videobox. Nothing compares with it for Flash-based video capture. Perfect.

I have to view quite a number of Youtube videos repeatedly in my work and besides having to wait for the download, this eats up my 'Fair Access Policy' with regard to my Satellite server. The Videobox is such a streamlined app and so easy to use I cannot imagine anything better. I'm very happy with the app and also the response from the company when I had a question with regard to the extension for Safari, they came back the same day with clear advice and I made the adjustments suggested within Preferences. I was so impressed I also purchased the license for the Musicbox because they work so well. The Ease of Use should be a 5, but I don't seem to be able to change the rating. Apologies to the developers because this App deserves 5 stars throughout.

I kicked my rating up a star (to 4) based on stability of the current version (4.0.4) and also improved radar (or so it seems) for detecting preferred downloadable content to advertising. I still hear audio occasionally. It ends when the download ends or I download another item. Turning off Sound (F10) solves the problem if you don't mind downloading in silence, which is fine for me.

New version is faster than past versions, but of late has started crashing. Also, reproducing audio while downloading -- not on all sites, but some. On the other hand, the developers seem responsive, so we shall see.

Yes that is your security preference. Just go to security in system preferences and you will see it with a dialog asking you if you wish to download it anyway. That happens to me with every developer that's not on some hidden list.

I'm having this strange experience with Videobox 3.9.6 (the new version, but the old version did this too after I installed Mavericks): whenever I start downloading an .flv file, Videobox starts playing the audio track and keeps playing it even after I close the original website. This happens whether or not the mini-browser is invoked. I can't figure out through which application the sound is being played, but it stops (a) when a new download begins, which then begins to play; and (b) when I quit Videobox. Weird, huh?

This remains unfixed despite a new version.

Also, the app wanders, checking every graphi on a pagec often "following" the wrong one, which kills time and seemingly is irreversible once the mini-browser pops up. You don't get your capture (though you may get another). Not fun to watch.

- Can't update Safari Plugin Error?
- In app AutoUpdate Error?
- DMG copy problem with symlink to Application folder?
Common TastyApps, a stable release please.
The above errors are simple to solve. Please, fix this asap. It's not professional releasing it this way.

I've paid for the app and I expect a program that's tested.
If you need a beta tester, leave a comment.

Don't get me wrong. The app, when it's working, is great! 5 Stars!
It's fast, very easy to use, Safari integration, many settings, etc.

With kind regards & thanks in advance.

Got this for free, thanks!

However I can't get it to work. Whatever link I drag from Safari, the mini Browser opens up, claiming it cannot find a video (on youtube or vimeo). I shall locate the vid and press play. I do so and then nothing happens, nothing loads or downloads.....

Quite underwhelming so far, I am sorry.

However, I would also like an option to just download the vid as it is, without any conversion taking place.

Thanks!

Use the "Raw" setting in the conversion preferences to download videos without conversion. Normally this works just fine, but I've discovered that this version will not remember the setting when I set it to "Raw", it keeps reverting back to mp4. I contacted the developer about it and they said this would be fixed in the next version.

Otherwise it works flawlessly. Good work!

It seems like a nice little app. It makes it real easy to download Flash movies from the web and put them in iTunes. It's got a nice interface too.

However, has the company died? They removed this app from their homepage, and multiple emails to them regarding FLVR go unanswered. Does anyone know how to remove this app?

Quit Safari, then Just use spotlight to search for all files with FLVR and move them to trash. Restart or log out of your mac and back in and empty the trash (as it's most likely still in use by the system).

The last 4 updates to this software don't seem to install. I get an error message and a suggesting I run the installer later. I'm not sure what 'later' means, as it's the same message all the time.

I'll dump the bundle file manually, but don't expect newbies to know how to do the same thing.
