NodeBox overview

NodeBox is a Mac OS X application that lets you create 2D visuals using Python programming code and export them as a PDF or a QuickTime movie.

;p> Create static, animated or interactive compositions using simple primitives such as rectangles and ovals, import images and vector files from Photoshop and Illustrator or play around with text paths.

NodeBox supports Core Image so you can create layered images using transformations, blend modes, alpha masks and filters, all hardware-accelerated.

NodeBox is open source, well-documented, and has a thriving community.

What’s new in version 3.0.51

Version 3.0.51:
  • This release fixes a bug where you could connect a node to itself. You've always been able to do this, but because the output hitbox is now larger, this made it much easier (and much more annoying) to do.

I dont know how to code in this thing, I'm a graphic designer with no programming background or skills, but I love it! O love to play around with the exeample code that come with the app itself and with the code shared buy the users in the website. Beautiful experimental graphics that you can export as vector graphics to Illustrator. I just wish I could really learn to code this or Processing: http://www.processing.org/ http://www.openprocessing.org/. I also recommend the wonderful and free Illustrator plug-in: Scriptographer: http://www.scriptographer.com/ Have fun!
