Pen sketch graphics space game.

Overview

SketchFighter 4000 Alpha... Remember those super-cool space ships you doodled on graph paper in Middle School? Pen strokes furiously waging massive intergalactic battles in History class with the fate of humanity hanging in the balance? Well they have sprung to life in SketchFighter 4000 Alpha!

SketchFighter 4000 Alpha redefines \"retro\" by bringing together the imaginative pen and paper sketches from your youth with a killer resolution independent OpenGL graphics engine. SketchFighter also boasts a unique synthesis of exploration and action game play, which has you alternately blasting cute little lady bugs into oblivion and then puzzling your way through the hand-drawn challenges presented to you.

With a notebook stuffed full of killer challenges awaiting you, and a unique two-player gaming mode that\'s unlike anything you\'ve ever seen, SketchFighter 4000 Alpha brings the fantasies of your youth to life in an absurd yet utterly wonderful gaming experience.

It\'ll take you plenty of time to defeat the nefarious obstacles and devious bosses that challenge you in SketchFighter, but once you do, there\'s no need to despair. SketchFighter 4000 Alpha\'s two player mode allows you to play with a friend at the keyboard, or play with other SketchFighters over the Internet for live action!

Still haven\'t had enough yet? SketchFighter also has a level editor that lets you create your own battlegrounds, allowing you to release your inner creativity to create levels for yourself and others to enjoy.

Why no widescreen support in these days of widescreen displays everywhere?

SketchFighter is one of my favorite games. It appears like a simple action game on the surface, but there is a strong element of discovery and problem solving. It's whimsical, and I like whimsey, so that's another plus. And it is stable. Actually, rock-solid: it has never crashed on me, not even once, despite many, many hours of gameplay.

Yes, we do support full screen in the current version. If you select to use one of the higher resolutions, you will be able to have the product be full screen and not have any of the black bands on the top or sides of the screen. Thank you.

Ambrosia…. simply stretching 4:3-formatted graphics to fill a 16:9 screen isn't the same as re-rendering the graphics to give an actual widescreen presentation. All you are doing is distorting the graphics and adding nothing extra to see. It looks ridiculous.

We agree, which is why it should render the game in widescreen at the higher resolution if it's natively supported. No stretching & no bars. If you are seeing otherwise, please contact us via our support form. Thanks :)

Very nice indeed. Reminiscent of the old Mac game Continuum, but with a completely unique graphical style.

I like this game, yet the constant re-spawning of the enemies when you re-cross levels is boring and tedious. Other than that, great fun.

If they still have the OMG award, this should win for the year. This is certainly the most original game I've played in a while, at least graphically. It is intuitive, and is not difficult to control at all. There was no need to read anything for it, but there is a tutorial, and it is enjoyable in itself. Good job, you guys! I do not have the $19 registration fee, but it is definitely worth it. PS. this is marked as alpha, but I had not a single problem on my machine.
