This application is AWFUL (and my career as a CAD engineer qualifies me to say so). There are many bugs in the software, point snapping is very inaccurate, tools frequently fail to complete successfully, but the biggest annoyance to me is the crappy rotate view tool. It rarely follows the mouse movement and almost every time gets "stuck" in a pivot-only mode (no rotate) or rotate-only mode (no pivot). Also, it can import OBJ files but cannot export them. Lastly, support is practically non-existent, leaving you to resort to online forums for help, which often is not helpful. I dropped $500 on this application and personally have much higher expectations of software at that price point than what this product delivers. I do not recommend this application to anybody who's serious about productive CAD software.

I found this software (TurboCAD Deluxe v7) buggy under Mountain Lion OS. Undo would invariably insert duplicates of my walls, which I would have to delete time after time. AutoCAD files are hit and miss on import, sometimes scattered all over the drawing after importing. Doors and windows do not propagate when using the 2D to 3D tools, even in the tutorial model. Several of the features do not work as instructed in the manual. Exported 3D drawings import fairly well into Lightwave for rendering, but TurboCAD's library textures do not export with the drawing, and cannot be accessed outside of TurboCAD. That being said, I paid $130 when v.7 first came out, and I might have been happier if I had paid $50 less. Furthermore, I have found enough workarounds, though it pains me to keep deleting extra walls, that I might have even upgraded to TurboCAD Pro if they didn't want to charge $200 for the privilege. (Even today with the big sale.) I do hate it when companies ignore early adapters. All in all, I would warn not to take this software too seriously. It is cheap by comparison to really good software, but it is more for hobbyist than serious draftspersons.

Hi, just bought the Pro version. Installation runs fine and TurboCAD tells me that I've entered a valid serial number. However, when I click on the Activation button, Safari opens and tries to load a page from IMSI, but fails. No chance to retrieve the activation code. How can this be fixed? Kind regards, Claus

I bought this application about 3 weeks ago and being this is my first 3D CAD application that I've bought, so far I must say its been a good experience, Now I know this is no Auto CAD but for someone like myself thats new to 3D CAD, its been perfect. My one objection is to the GUI of the application, it has absolutely not a bit of appeal its very archaic and a bit clunky. The developer could have put a little more effort into it. As far as the application goes it is a great value. So far its been fairly easy to learn by oneself and the one drawback to this is that the tutorials are for the first version and so they don't quite go with this version but its not to bad to figure out. I don't think its wise of the developer to ignore these little things that wouldn't be to hard for a developer like IMSI to just take care off, since it takes away from the user's experience when using TurboCAD Mac 3D that otherwise would be a home run, as it turns out its a triple.
