Posterino overview
Posterino offers enhanced customization and flexibility including a variety of new, stylish templates featuring grids of identical or odd-sized image boxes. You can customize the size and shape of these boxes at any time. And with a single click, the application will automatically fill those boxes with random images drawn from the photos you uploaded. If you prefer to manually select images, you can simply drag and drop images into the template.
Sharing your photos is quick and simple as well. You can directly upload your completed collages to your Facebook, Twitter or Flickr account from inside the app, and export photos to iPhoto and your email. Posterino also lets you create and send custom e-cards with your very own stamps and postmarks.
The new features:
- Improved workflow throughout: Adding, removing or creating image objects now results in an instant re-layout of your document.
- New and improved content: Expect new templates, new frames, new backgrounds and more. For example, you can now add individual text captions to any image on your document.
- New layout options: We advanced the existing templates to include a "Circular" option and added Grid Lines to ease manual image placement.
- Automatic styling: The look of your images can now be changed and aligned automatically.
- A whole new crop editor: The enhanced version improves crop workflow and creates a persistent crop state.
- We added a bunch of new sharing services: Post on Facebook, Twitter or Flickr. Send your creation as Message or via AirDrop.
- A sleek new user interface: The redesigned interface has a larger workspace, especially handy if you are working on a MacBook.
- Posterino is now sandboxed and supports Retina display.
- Additional requested improvements: We implemented a large number of popular user requests, resulting in a myriad of large and small improvements in many areas of the application.
What’s new in version 5.4
This release is all about improving the text features of Posterino. The text editor now works in-place and the inspector panels for text and text captions have been cleaned up. To make the text features more prominent, I added a new toolbar button for adding text.
New
- You can now add text captions and text boxes using the new Add Text toolbar button.
- Double-clicking a text caption now opens a handy pop-up inspector right on the caption.
Changes
- Text blocks are now edited in-place.
- The Text Block and Text Caption inspector panels have been cleaned up and made more compact.
- I have reworked the Auto-Crop inspector panel to make the feature more accessible. It is now much more self-explanatory than before. I have also updated the Auto-Crop topic in the online guide to reflect the new UI.
- The inspector now asks for confirmation when attempting to remove a layer.
- Small tweaks here and there to improve the user interface.
- Updated the table of contents for the online guide.
Fixes
- When adding a frame layer to the page, the corresponding frame panel now appears in the inspector.
- When using image filters like "blur", Posterino could waste a lot of CPU cycles and energy. This is no longer the case.
- Auto-Crop "keep face in frame" no longer gives a "crop warning" for images without faces.
- Fixed a possible crash when displaying an image selected in the Media Browser to be displayed in the document.
- Improved Inspector performance when changing the selection of graphic objects that containing text or text captions.
- Made the status icon for the "individual crop" indicator work under macOS Monterey.

well now, it has become a heavy weight "mosaic-centered" collage editor with a not less heavy price tag. TurboCollage does 90% of what Posterino does, except replacing simplistic background mostly of people portraits. Since my last comment back in April, the price went up $5. And before that the price was something like $40 if I'm correct ? I've been using both for the last 10 years. But last 5-6 years I preferred TurboCollage, because it is more flexible in many ways, and the job well.

Is it so hard to list the price, and what a user gets for a "pro" version? I hate developers that purposely hide or completely leave out this information.

The Pro version (this one) is $75 lifetime license. Or subscription $12/year.
Not clear though, the difference between Pro and Regular(free) ?

This app keeps getting better, and is now by far the best poster maker. It enables you to easily and intuitively set poster size, dpi, photo-margins and poster borders. It automagically makes an attractive tiled poster of any number of images, and supports sorting the photos in a variety of ways, included by filename, so you can establish whatever sequence you want in your photo management software (like Lightroom) and maintain that sequence in Posterino. This is very important in large posters with hundreds of photos. Finally, it is very easy and intuitive to pan/zoom the photos within the Posterino defined frames. I've done many posters as gifts for friends and families over the last 15 years, and with this version of Posterino I'm truly satisfied with the functionality and results.

I’ve been a big fan of Posterino for over a decade now. It is a clean and efficient application that offers a lot of flexibility to the user – it is simple to use (intuitive user interface with many customizable options) and delivers on its purpose. It is a great value for the price and developers are constantly seeking input on how to improve the product. I have found customer support to be very responsive and provided outstanding service.
